ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hi everyone1

Obviously it is a very busy period at the moment for the club with contract negotiations and discussions in the January transfer window. There are some things that are difficult for the club to comment on and officially we don't ever make comment on speculation but i did want to take this opportunity to answer some questions so I can to make sure that no-one feels the club is keeping them in the dark. That is never our intention, it is more that topics can be very fluid and quickly changing by the hour. For example if you asked me yesterday if Lewis Miller was leaving for Macarthur I would have replied there was a high likelihood, yet here we are very proud to announce his extension for the next two years.

Sam Silvera is still contracted to CCM for the next two years, and the opportunity for him to train with MLS club LAFC who has a lot of very similar principles to our club, is not only a great opportunity for Sam but also for our club to form a strong relationship with. This is a very short opportunity and we can all expect Sam back soon - these type of opportunities are important to our club and sends a strong message to all aspiring young players that the Mariners are a club where you can develop and move to bigger and better things. Many of the other A-League clubs are being criticized for doing the opposite right now. We are planning an official statement over the next 24-48 hours if required.

Tommy Oar has been given the opportunity to stay with CCM amid contract negotiations and talks with many other players are underway. Media speculation states that Tommy has been offered a much bigger offer at Macarthur and only Tommy and Macarthur will know the details of that. The moment something official has happened we will make a formal statement.

The club is in regular contact with all players and their intermediaries (agents) and we are actively making formal offers to players to extend their contracts. Some players have already indicated to us that they want to wait until the end of the season and just focus on the season ahead whilst others are very keen to have clarity on their future now.

Every player that agrees to stay or depart affects what we have available and the strategy for future players. This makes it very difficult to remain transparent to everyone on a day to day basis because a player who we might have felt we didn't have the budget for a few weeks ago now could be back in calculations as players we expected to stay decide to depart.

Sorry to talk in some riddles but hopefully you can appreciate why.

Fingers crossed that all the players we want to keep and recruit into the club see what huge potential we have and want to be part of something special, just like the loyalty Lewis Miller has shown us.
Just wanted to say we appreciate your openness when you can.

Sad news this. Munf is a great player but always gave his time to say hello and have a chat after games with the guys who came to games. Always said thanks for coming and was honest with performances. Top keeper, top man. Best of luck to him
It's a real pity because we will be free of Pearce next yr and he would likely be our #2.

Someone will know better but don’t we have an amazing crop of young goalkeepers coming through below Munford?

I am led to believe (but may be wrong) but we also have the best 14/15 year old keeper in the country.

He told us on Sunday that he has a new club so will wait for him to announce it

Surely given McGlinchey's long term living in Australia and assuming he may be looking at staying in Australia is there a chance that he could get citizenship and free up a visa spot?
Wouldn’t his stint at the nix reset his citizenship timeline? But even if he was eligible we’re paying senior player money for a bloke we’ve barely seen this season. That’s not a luxury we have if we want to improve and it would be very optimistic assuming it would change. Better to focus our resources on a core of starting players and some young talents.

Zenden Hart is apparently quite the talent. Will be interesting to see if he steps up

Gold Coast NPL

you mean NPL Queensland? I’m assuming Olympic with Ben Cahn?
This is roughly the time of year youth boys bite the bullet that they need to move on.
Massive flaw in the system in this country that 20 is considered too old and yet arguably the best league (EPL) in the world has a U23 full season league with players worth millions in it. But no we can’t do that here down under... that would actually give quality young players a genuine shot at reaching very good level and therefore helping the national teams. It’s not even a joke it’s just f**king sad.

Im shocked we let Munford go. He is a really good keeper.....levels above Pearce.

Can only be the hand of Pikey.
