I’m more saying from his point of view than ours.

He may not be happy (no knowledge) being a 30min man.

He may want out if we don’t start playing him more.

We in theory could survive that.

Then go get a class winger

I’d say he will start this week
In a presser a few weeks ago Staj was talking about Kim, he mentioned he still has niggles so not rushing him to start. Not sure when we will see him start but I recall he also has a pretty poor injury record in the K League. Maybe smart by Staj as he is pretty handy at coming on late and offers some stability. Kim might be happy with this treatment.

Bounemouth. But they both the loan and deal end at the end of next month supposedly
Yes that was what I read he was going back to chat to the Cherries, that was when it was mentioned he was keen to go back to the US. Cup win and back into Socceroos contention so you can not blame him for being keen on the US when it has revived his career. I like him as a player so it is good to see him getting his mojo back.

It’s coming to the time of the season where our off contract players can be poached by other clubs. I’m starting to get concerned at the lack of re-signings. I think Birighitti should be top of our list as he will continue to grow throughout the season and into next. There should also be an attempt to lock oar down for a further 2 years, although the long we leave these signings the less chance I believe we have. Duric and Kim I think will only stay the one year. Gordon may want to stay around, hopefully in a central role to allow for more attacking fullbacks. I would like to see Miller, Nisbet and Stensness all extended too. I have a feeling if Nisbet puts a foot wrong this season he will be let go, which would be a terrible decision by the club. I just have a feeling this year is his last chance so hopefully he is given the opportunity to prove himself

2020 - (16)

Birighitti (re-sign, at least 2 years)
Duric (doubtful he will renew)
Eun-sun (back to Korea)
Fox (back-up, 1 year)
Gordon (re-sign, 1 year)
Jair (wait and see)
Majok (gone)
McGlinchey (gone)
Melling (gone)
Miller (Scholarship) (upgrade, 2 years)
Nisbet (Scholarship) (upgrade,1-2 years)
Oar (re-sign, 2 years)
Roberts (wait and see)
Shabow (gone)
Simon (role within the club)
Stensness (re-sign 1-2 years)

I expect we'll lose Fox if we intend on keeping Ziggy in the middle and also have Rowles and Tongyik. Duric we should lock in again and think we'll be a decent chance to do that. Kim most likely back home as you said and agree with the rest. With Macarthur hunting close enough to our backyard we need to be proactive but I'm not concerned yet, we arent going to be aware of all the details until that stuff is locked in and sometimes well after.

I don't see why Duric wouldn't stay, it would only be if a Sydney or City poached him.

Kim agree, he would go home.

I'm most excited about the cap space Mcglinchey and Simon will free up, I reckon it would be close to 500k

Oar can go for mine. Good player but not really do anything. Use his and McGlinchy money on a proper overseas winger.

Birra can stay (can’t believe I’m writing this but he has proved me wrong)

Ziggy can go to. Had a really good game on weekend but nothing we cannot replace. I’d take Fox and Millar over him and buy another attacker

I think Oar has been in our top 3 players every game this season. Would you risk bringing in an unknown when we already have his quality? Unless he is asking a lot more money for an extension being in form and captain.

Duric, Oar and Birraz have been our best i reckon.

I also think Kim is quality - he is calm on the ball and has good presence on the field, good passing. I think we are a different side if both him and Duric are starters.

IMO Oar is a great example of the qualities we want to see in our players. Plenty of heart, will run til he drops and leaves nothing on the pitch. Even when he has a bad game you aren’t questioning that he has put the effort in for us. I never get the feeling he’s out there for himself.

We brought Matty and weemac back to revamp our culture but I want to see more focus on players like Oar moving forward. Pain was of a similar mould and both Rowles and Muzz seem to have a similar vibe too.

Oar has been an absolutely fantastic signing. No real fuss, gets on with the job, dependable, but still does some great work moving forwards.
The commentators were talking about how he doesn't seem like the captain who can light a fire under the team though, not like, say, Hutcho could.
But then again, we've tried to hire players for the purpose of doing that. Look how that turned out.

That may be a valid call and I guess that’s where the leadership group comes in. Captain can be a great face for the club and positive or calming influence, but then you can turn to more of an enforcer in the squad for a stern word when someone or the whole team needs a kick up the arse. Whether that’s the likes of Matty or perhaps a Kim/Duric/Birraz character. Nothing wrong with knowing your strengths and having others complement them.
