ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I wondered where our attack went in the 2nd half then I saw Matty was on. My immediate reaction was "WTF is he doing on?". Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of time for Matty off the field, he's always been respectful to fans, always prepared to have a little chat, a great club man. However on the field I'm afraid he can't cut it any more. Time to give it away.

Yep. Keep him in the squad as a vice-assistant-advisor to the attacking assistant coach or some such. On the field? He's reached the point where 10 men is probably preferable. He doesn't harass the defence, he doesn't cause any danger to force people to mark him to open up space for the others - and every time a ball is sent to him, he is either unable or unwilling to get to it.
What I mean by 10men being better - there was a brilliant cross put to him near the far post. Anybody could have scored from it, it was so good. Perfectly positioned and he SHOULD have got a header on it. He was bloody well required to. It wasn't even high - I mean, Nisbet could have headed it.

Instead, he doesn't even jump for it.

If he wasn't in that spot, another player may have been - and every other player on the field would have nailed it.

To be honest after Simon's effort last night I would like to see Majok get a run and see what he can or can not do. Couldn't be any more ineffective than Simon last night. Actually think Majok may have caused their ageing backs some headaches in the last 20 minutes last night especially when we had to replace Fox and Sam didn't get a run (hindsight is wonderful and I get Staj's tactics). He might have a poor first touch but he is fast and keen as mustard, not old, slow, poor touch and grumpy which played into the hyphenators hands who easily took care of him. The yellow he gave away says it all and especially all of the referee's views on him, he is nothing more than a liability for this team that is trying so hard. I'm sure some of the players are feeling that way about him as well, if not now you see it building as the season progresses.

Couldn’t agree more ....as for Captain Card Collector ...I hope the team has the guts to front him and say something cause it looks like ego is stopping him from saying anything, which I firmly believe he would of years ago

I feel like this is all the more reason to invest and get a f**king striker.

We have the best attacking mid we have ever seen, he is literally carrying us at the moment. We likely won't keep him beyond this season knowing our track record so let's capitalise.

There are formations that don’t have a striker and we certainly have the players to pull it off.
We’d probably score more tbh.

But surely Milan has a striker mate of similar quality to himself.
Would make him happier here too.
I can’t get over how good his goal was last night, incredible technical ability, I see him grabbing 10 from midfield this season. His fitness levels and general physique suggests he could last in this league until atleast 36 like some other imports around the league right now.

I heard of a striker off contract in December who I think might solve our striker issues.
Zlatan Ibrahimović Is off contract in December and has said he might be Interested in the a league.

Apparently Thomas Müller isn't happy being on the bench either. Not sure he's heard of the A league though.
