Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Both would want big $$$ too. Neither would bring good media too. Keane is also one of the most injury prone footballers in the UK. He’s basically known for being a wonder kid in United’s youth teams who was destroyed by injury and Michael Keane’s twin. Not worth the risk, plenty of better options out there. So probably looks like Staj prefers a visa striker over CB. So what decent Aussie CB’s are available and within reach?

Golec doesnt have a club I dont think?
For a reason imo.

My guess is Sainsbury will do everything he can to stay in Europe for a while or at the least head to Asia for a better paying gig before coming home again.

Mile though... hard to know. Be a terrific signing and would be easily one of the best CB’s in the league if we deployed him there. But might head to Asia for a pay day too.

Didn`t he say he was coming home to play for ,then to coach Macarthur?
He could fit in a guest stint in Asia though

If MacArthur have big money on the table he won’t sign anywhere local to spoil that. A stop off in east or west Asia sounds plausible.

Golec is more likely the level we would be looking at for start/depth but I feel like it might be a season too soon for both parties. But I’d take him if Staj can get his confidence back.

I don't remember him saying anything. Macarthur said they had approached him and made it sound like a done deal.

As a free agent I would not be surprised if a newly promoted EPL side pick him up for experience.

Similarly I'd love see Trent with Maty and Mooy at BHA.

I really liked the guy but we need better than Golec. Never got back to form after the break and was always poor on the ball. Aspro was much better, I’m sure GG will be much better also. Back three madness did not help, but only Kennedy and Melling were in front of Golec for horrendous unforced errors.

Aspro will go from being a sometimes captain and certain starter to sitting on the pine at Western.

He really jumped the gun with an early signing at that club.

I’m not saying he’s the level we would go for ideally but I think he was decent for what he likely costs. After the break he came back in to the MM setup and I’m not sure anyone thrived in that. Looked a bit better weeks after going to the nix which says a lot. Could be a redemption story there if someone gives him minutes.

We need above his level. Top bloke but I wouldn’t re-sign him.

I'm not sure we can afford a local option at the level the fans want and it seems like the visa spot is going to be used on a striker since there's even less available recognised local strikers than there are defenders. IMO we're more likely to add depth to the back line rather than bringing in someone above who we already have. Will it be enough? We'll have to wait and see.

Always find the FIFA ratings interesting. While not gospel, they give a good indication on where player strengths and weaknesses are. Here is FIFA 19 for Kim (overall 70):
