ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Also not let the local knuckledraggers f**k up the pitch mid season. Fridays pitch was a joke.

It looked patchier than it was, it's not as good as hindmarsh but  from ground level it's still one of the best in the league, the problem this season has been that it's too long IMO. I think this will be a good move especially given FFA are involved in the process a Matildas home ground would be great, would be intersting to see if CCL would use it (which would help their chances of a promotion, given I don't think Pluim qualifies)

CCL tried it several years ago for a season (or part of a seaon?) & it just about sent them broke. The small crowds don't go halfway to paying the very big costs of playing at BT compared with Pluim.
Someone has to play regular winter games to make the stadium pay it's way or CCM will be all alone in paying around 1.5 mill in managements rights, maintenance & overheads, if EAS can be used as a guide.

I think if you look back Singo has not been happy with owning the stadium. Without RL playing regularly there it became a bit of a burden. Mariners have helped but it has still not been a great investment.
If we are buying it, it would have to be at a very good price.
It could be a good move for when the A-league comp expands and has more of an overlap with the rugby codes and for ACL matches, it may be worth it to have a quality surface.

Arent the FFA building a 15000 seater at moore park with the nsw govt to play olyroo and matilda games there?

The NRL play at Bluetounge because they feel if they dont they will ignore a large part of their existing supporter base and its not like they have not tried. A rainy season and delays to Blurtounge was all the stopped the Bears being on the Coast and they still have the 8 million on offer for a team to relocate.

Given none of the existing clubs wish to move the NRL made a strategic decision to play a number of games at Bluetounge each year. Many of these games are against the Newcastle Knights given their fans are fairly close and the belief by the NRL that the CC will support the Jets as an adopted team in time.

So the NRL will still play games, being the key lease holder we are in the position of deciding when the stadium is needed for the Mariners and others have to fall behind us. I also fell if a football stadium is owned by a football club the FFA will play many of the smaller international here.  Further building football brand across the coast, as well as making a massive statement to the citizens of the coast this is our team and that is its stadium.

I am sure the numbers have been gone through by our management and if it makes economic sense and we can control the ground usage then it is a great idea.

If we do get control I hope we turn it into a football ground, Mariners logos around the ground paint on the seats in bright yellow ...... MARINERS .........  so whoever comes to Bluetounge be they a travelling A-league fan from another club, an Asian from the ACL or an NRL or Union person coming to watch their match they realise they are in a football ground.

Just as a note on the treat the NRL very bad ........ remember they still control many of the existing and future grounds other A-League clubs will be at so we need to be a tad careful.

No need to treat NRL anyworse than the other sports wishing to use our facility, we'd still make the money so who cares?

Calling it NRL Sucks Stadium would be fun though "And tonight's round 4 clash in the NRL comes to you live from NRL Sucks Stadium in Gosford"

I was more infering that moire money could be made from large tennants, without pushing up the cost for current local things.

Correct: it may not look any different but they used to "rent" a temporary screen. If I remember correctly Energy Australia sponsored a permanent one ?

bingo - della showed up at a game to present it to the club and all. that would cut a fair bit off each game day cost too - the screen used to be trucked in week by week i understand.

If we get control I would at the entrance from the club end a poster of all current Mariner international players ......... a painting of them on a yellow background with the Mariners logo as a footing to the artwork above......... Any other ideas
