Hopefully it means the bears seats are ripped out and replaced with "Mariners" seats. I farking hate those bears words in our stadium.

Rip out all of the seats and replace them with yellow ones (except for a terrace down Bay 15-17). Configure a pattern of blue seats on the Eastern side that say something like "CCMFC" or "MARINERS" or "f**k OFF SCUM"... ok, maybe one of the first two.

Dont foget the mariners wont have to pay rent after this. And they decide what rent to charge the nrl.
The weekly rental is replaced with a many times higher investment for annual managements rights payment.
No free lunch here jesus. The difference being the potential return on the investment.
I disagree with the assumption they can now charge nrl or others what they like for rental as they still have to be competitive in the market. Rental agreements would be negotiated on market value. Manly or newcastle for example get bigger crowds & make more money by keeping their home games at home & only play at BT for promotional purposes. It won't hurt them to say thanks but no thanks if the price isn't right.

Every week Bt is vacant is more costs needed to be covered by CCM's.

Here's your 3 points Mr Zola. no, we are happy to gift wrap them and hand them over to you. Its our pleasure. Zamora will miss everything and our big money signing will have a brain snap when we go 2-0 down.

Piss poor weekend for Aussie keepers and isnt Lucas a despicable prick sometimes.

Competetive yes. But, one of the major reasons the NRL wants to go to the coast is the cheaper stadium. The rent can go a fair way up to match games in sydney, and if the nrl want a team here, there is no reason why the rents need to be so cheap at all.

Increase leasing fees and run the risk of it not being used.  I am sure prices are already set at an optimum to ensure the stadium is used regularly while benefitting all concerned. NRL teams won't even bother if it's more economical to play at their home ground. Don't go getting greedy as it just may back fire the CCM having to foot the bill.

Yeh, you're right, it has to be a business decision by the Mariners. Its the FFA's role to position the game well in the sporting market place. If the NRL decide to place a team on the coast, the FFA may well get themselves involved. e.g. It may be in FFA's interests to use the stadium some other way so that we can reject an NRL bid without losing out. Probably way too early to think this way, but it would be nice :)

Currently from the sounds of things bluetongue is far cheaper than most nrl home grounds. There is room to increase the rent there.

Also, with a team moving to gosford, why should the rent be cheaper than in sydney? If they are moving here it is because they feel they will make more money out of playing here, with bigger crowds presumably.

How would it cost manly or newcastle less to play at BT jesus? They own the rights to their own grounds and lose money in catering, grog sales & gate takings they would get at home. Hell, they could even go to the olympic stadium & get payed twice as much as the BT rental cost to play there, have much larger capacity & far better facilities.
I doubt CCM management are stupid enough to cut off their noses to spit their face so it's a moot point.

Nothing to do with the $8 million the nrl have on the table.

They are already playing as many games at homebush as they can because it makes them more money than full grounds at home. So there must be some room to move. The fact that there are so many league games at BT suggests that they are either making good money here, in which case there is room for the mariners to lessen that, or the nrl is paying them to play here, in which case that would remain with a modest rent increase.

Either way i would prefer the nrl to be no more on the coast, than not take the biggest slice of the cake possible.

No league
or league paying good money

Do not take this as me saying all rents should be increased. Just for league :)
