ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Good to get out the house and clear the hang over. Didn't get to speak with any of the players as H said he'd rather go on the bouncey castles than queue up and get his hat signed by the players!

Well done to those involved in dressing up the marinators marquee ( a new marinators club acquisition that will be used for dinamo games, xmas, other special events) and a bloody beauty it is too! Great buy Fish!
The whole set up looked awesome and very professional or at least 'passionate'!

So the Marinators have a new Centre of Excellence?

i was disapointed I missed this, i was really looking forward to it but the many bluetongues i drank during the previous evening and the few beers i had at the bowling club waiting for the players to show up even after being told by security that no players would be attending kept me in bed.... does anyone else ever question why they drink?

I think it was a good day. We got there at 11, and the boys went over to the signing tent around 11:30 I think, so we didn't get much time to chat with the boys. We got piccies with Dylan, Andre, Caceres and Matty Simon, Andre was nice enough to have a quick chat and let me rub his fuzz y head (I just can't help myself).
Lawrie is great. He was of giving a speech by the time we got to the tent (45 min in the line) but he made sure to go back through the line and get everyone he missed.

There was one incident which I found a bit disappointing, and that was Danny's attitude towards his fans. Maybe it was just me, maybe we got unlucky, he was in a bad mood or whatever, but when I tried to ask him for a photo, well first he ignored me when I called out to him, figured he just couldn't hear me, tap him on the shoulder, he turns around, I ever so nicely :) ask for a quick photo, all I get back is *grunt* then turns back to the other guys he was with....um ok then forget it. Not too long after we saw him refuse an autograph for a lady, claiming that he wasn't allowed to sign anything until the signing session later on (even though all the other boys were doing it) and not five seconds later he was signing an autograph for some other guy.

I don't know, maybe my expectations are too high. I have met him twice, and both times he was just rude.

No..... but I do question why the players no longer go to the club after the games?
what's happened to their public relations this year?

dannysgirl I am sadden and sorry to hear about your experience with Danny

Many people have been asking the same question.  I suggest you contact the club directly.

Although, it's not something the club promised to do this year, so technically they are not in the wrong, however, an explanation to members would be nice.

I didn't get to the picnic, but I did get to read the Onside members' magazine that Ben and Ivan put together.

It was fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed reading Matt Simon's back story and the piece on Hutch and Wilko, getting some good insight and behind the scenes anecdotes about how those guys came to be the driving forces in the squad.

. unfortunately i don't think it was an isolated incident, having had similar experiences with danny myself  :(

. have also found that lawrie always manages to find time to be friendly and that gumpy is partial to a little 'fuzz rub'  ;D

being on a recent flight with the boys to perth danny was one of the players that spotted us on the way to the dunny and stopped for a very long chat

my sister-in-law, who danny does not know, found him very friendly and chatty once when she spotted him at a kings cross pub out with the olyroos

she eventually said that she was my sister-in-law and danny got very excited and said "oh, you must be lamese's sister" - hehe

I have to say, i've not had a bad experience with Danny either.  After the grand final (and we know how awful danny must have felt after that) he saw me through the crowd and came up to me said hello, gave me a hug etc.

He could have nodded from a distance, smiled and waved, but didn't.
