ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

I'm trying to get down to that size (XXL) ;) I've actually lost 10kg. since last Nov. but I'm buggered where from. Although my left earlobe does look a little smaller? ;)

So you are not who I thought you were????!!!!

I thought you were the little bloke who filmed the Wanderers grubs with his mobile when they were bouncing up and down in front of us like a scene from the Zulu movie on there first ever HAL game.

Really struggling watching good ex-Mariners at other clubs...

Similar sentiments myself.

The real 'struggle' I think as a fan is having to live under 'Charlesworthian Economic' conditions & knowing when opportunities like Bozanic arise they are but a 'hopeful dream' alas.

:D

I am Mr. Average, Mr. Everybody, Mr. Mediocre, Mr. Ordinary, Mr. Normal. You will not pick me out in a crowd. ;) My real name may be John Jones, or Peter Smith or Joe Blow, but you'll never know.

And that's the way I like it to be.

Good luck to Mossy. As a coach he made a beautiful pundit.
Nice bloke and just promoted into a full coaching role before he was ready.
I wish him well.

For anyone interested in the English translation":

Hey where do we go
Whenever it's match day
Down to the stadium
to watch the team play
they're running and a passing
they're shooting and a scoring
no matter who we're playing
we're always winning

The Mariners, Central Coast Mariners

We've won the championship
we've won the 'seat'
la la la la la la la Central Coast Mariners (x 3)
The Mariners

(It was originally to the tune of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl. The kids made it into more of a chant, except for the '"la la la...)

It would be great if Bay 16 did a version of this & posted it on Youtube for the kids in Togo.

For anyone that speaks French desolee pour la traduction

Yes, they have wifi' in Togo (and that's how they pronounce it), but the speed is dreadful. It literally takes 10 minutes to send a one line email

. could you guys provide the back story please?

I took two months off work (I have a good employer) and spent July and August working as a volunteer at an Orphanage in Lome, Togo. It was a French Colony until 1960, hence the French.

It's pretty basic at the orphanage. They don't have a lot to amuse themselves, but the boys love soccer and they take any chance they get to play with a very battered ball outside on the 'street'. There are a little over 30 kids from 4 months to 15 years, and they love doing / learning anything new. So just for fun we used Van Morrison's 'Brown Eyed Girl' as the basis for a song to my favourite football team. Just before I left I got a few of them together and videoed it. Unfortunately many of the kids had work to do at the time, so there were only a handful available for the recording, and I have to say they didn't sing it, so much as chant it. But they had fun!

A friend of mine who is still there wrote to me the other day and told me the kids are still singing it!

I have to assume that Dibo speaks French (no doubt better than me), hence his interest.
