ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

The flip side is there are a bunch of OS Aussies who may be keen to come back from Italy, Spain and the UK in particular and Europe in general.
That’s true, there might be an added focus on some of those abroad, I think pride will work against us there in most cases though. Someone like Tommy Juric would be a perfect candidate for rebooting his career here before a final payday but seems hellbent on not coming back. Though maybe there’s a chance for a club with deep pockets to pick up someone like Leckie who with a young family might be convinced to take a stint here.

Personally wouldn't be too upset to lose Ziggy, he has been decent but not anything exceptional. I think we can do better foreigner wise, though if the league resets and Charlesworth gets his way we won't have any foreigners at all would we?

https://mailchi.mp/ccmariners.com.au/update-on-the-hyundai-a-league-201920-season?e=329ea17e4a

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today re-confirmed its intention to resume the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season as soon as possible, identifying a number of criteria that need to be satisfied before a firm date for the resumption could be set. Those criteria include the sustainable provision of:
  • Player and staff Health and Safety threshold requirements State and Federal border restrictions being lifted
  • Large gathering restrictions allowing for the required squads and support staff to gather
  • Social distancing protocols being agreed with governments to allow the holding of professional games
But wait, there's more..... https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer...rnment-approval-is-given-20200423-p54mg9.html

A return date for the A-League will be set only after the FFA gains state and federal government approval - and the organisation still remains in the dark about the future of its broadcast deal with Fox Sports.

The A-League will remain suspended indefinitely after FFA admitted it still had no idea when the competition would resume, only that it plans to finish the 2019-20 season, FFA chief executive James Johnson said.

That's a good point PJ.
There will be surely be some who'll be looking at how well we coped with the virus here,
compared to overseas and maybe think it's worth less money to be safer.
Could the idea of getting some overseas Aussies back in the A League get some interest back into it.
Say the FFA stump up the money for every club to get a couple of good players.
Even better stump up more for the poorer clubs to have some good players.

You can't really blame Ziggy for looking around. Didn't Matty say they weren't getting paid.
I think it'll all be up in the air until the Foxtel deal gets sorted.

There are 7 clubs that aren't being paid. City, Victory, Nix and SFC are the only clubs that are paying players at the moment.

Well, if the season restarts after 31 May, he wont be a CCM player and then free to sign for who he likes. Blokes got to earn.

Such sad news about Donnie - an absolute legend in our club history.

Don bled football, through and through, and was a huge part of the football community.

First goal wins, 70% of the time, unless you are the Saints or Central Coast Mariners
