ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

Michael McGlinchey (Central Coast Mariners, Wellington Phoenix)

McGlinchey is the only player to have created 60+ scoring chances in a season for more than one club during the last eight A-League campaigns (66 for Mariners in 2012/13; 62 for Phoenix in 2015/16).

Mcglinchey has now made team of the decade in stats, international team of the decade. He scored 2 goals in the FFA cup and dropped from the squad altogether for the next round. He was called up to his national team in November. Interesting treatment he seems to be getting now from the club. Lack of respect from Stajcic !!

Maybe he could say how much he hates club and then try to sue it.
Sooner the poisonous little Judas is out of our club the better.

I don't think it's a lack of respect from Staj. History aside, we've all watched McGlinchey play this last season and a bit and as I much as I hate to say it - frankly he's a little past it in this league. He doesn't make the bench because there are players ahead of him who deserve to be ahead of him.
I loved what he did for us in the heyday. Despite all the sueing and contract stuff he was a big part of this clubs greatness for a long time and I'll always respect that. But for a team desparate to get away from the foot of the ladder we can't carry passengers and that's what he is on the field these days

CC Leagues club must be feeling unloved on match days.
I was asked by a staff member about why the fans were heading to the Brewery and Baker St.
They are looking to set up a supporters room upstairs on match days.
Stay tuned...
The club gave it all away ... us Recks ended up with a set of framed trading cards from a friend the club gave them too

I recall a heated forum debate between myself and dibo over CCLC over a couple of years... early on...

I have always held the opinion it was a leagues club that wanted Norths... dibo always maintained it was a club of leagues and we got treated more than fairly...because of LM and Singo they gave us some tid bits early on IMO but no more.

I also posted we should look to forming some kind of voting block and over time vote on known and supportive Football folk and one day turn the name from CCLC to CCFC ..

Open to suggestions... Forum Phoenix, ADZ, Wombat, all local Football folk with business backgrounds... would make good board members and have CV's to support nomination..

Is it worth forming some kinda special group to take a serious look at getting control of the board... maybe PM' me, which I will share with all that PM me....

Might be a bit ambitious there. Given the size of the organisation I can’t see a coup happening but you might be able to get a pro football voice in. As long as you say football you might even pick up some votes for people thinking you mean footy :D

I've always found it odd and amusing that there are several other codes calling themselves 'football' and yet play their games primarily with the ball in their hands

Was leaked by a CCM fan on FB a few days ago - Seattle as 2IC I think
Interested to know why he didn't see out the season? Any one with any goss? Maybe the offer from Seattle was to good of an opportunity and he must have enjoyed his time in the US.

Aspro may finally get some minutes at WU with injuries and Chapman leaving. They say they are after some players in Jan, interested to see if they find any especially fullbacks.

OzHammer and FP would be my nominations.
I don't know Adz but he runs a bloody good forum.

Interesting that the club and YA (and I assume the OSC as well) haven’t been approached by CCLC about this. Kind of amusing that they’re now feeling unloved after years of not giving a f**k about us.

Bay Rd have shown huge willingness to work with us on game day, much more than can be said of CCLC for a number of years. Much better beer too it must be said.
I wonder what they did with all the old mariners memorabilia from the old Kendall Lounge.

The OSC did approach CCLC about becoming a formal away game venue back in the Walmsley era but they couldn’t have been less interested tbh. All we wanted was a dedicated area to gather and watch the game on a decent screen and even that was too much for them, which is why we ended up at Sidelines that season.

We would be happy to re-open that discussion if I thought that it might lead to a good outcome for fans but that might now only undermine the alternatives that YA and CC16 now have in place at Bay Rd and Baker St.

In all honesty, it staggers me that CCM & CCLC don’t seem to have been able to form a meaningful relationship in 15 years, after all it shouldn’t have been a difficult sell surely? If anything, CCLC almost seems to want to work against CCM and its fans on home game days (limited menu options in the bistro allied to unfriendly match day opening hours for food for instance) and as for away games, it would be the last place I would attend tbh.
