ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Saw him walking into the leagues club with Sterj after last weeks nightmare.

Saw him hug sterj in the tunnel after the game on sat night & pick up someones kid. Had a big smile.

Just looks like he is happy & for a guy in the middle of an ACL recovery that's very important.

Looks like the guys just might be looking after him & he is a smooth as with the ladies (that helps)

Yeh, he is great with the fans and especially the kids. Dutchman Pat like.

A shame about his injury. Would love to see an in form Flores gelled with the team running rampant.

Great bloke and a great player sadly underrated by some of the mugs on this website.

I did cringe and laugh at his description of us a a Football team....as we are the most defensive team in the comp and I believe have the worst scoring record in the comp as well.

Marcos.....we will only get better if you stick around buddy.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit

Understandable but very disappointing :(

Also echoing what Recky says with it being a dumb, dumb idea to announce this news the same day as Mile's send off.

I am not surprised at the decision. he is a lovely player but rarely performed for ninety minutes. Given salary cap restrictions I thought we would struggle to retain him; I congratulate Moss for making the early decision.
Making the announcement on the day of this game, or any game for that matter, stinks. The man deserves more respect than that.

. the timing did seem rather strange ... but it did allow him to front up to the post-match function to receive a farewell of sorts from the fans

. very difficult to do under the circumstances but, as always, he was all grace and humility ... quite emotional for those affected by such things. true class.

. he said something like ... you will forget the games i played for the mariners and the goals i have scored, but i hope you will always remember the passion i have for football and i will always remember the passion you showed to me

Here's what he had to say last night on Twitter:

@ALeague supporters & dears CCM supporters. first of all I am so thankful for every word of support at the stadium :)

I am so proud to be loved for who I am as the person-- coz in short time we did learn how to embrace each other in such a passionate way :)

I want to let u know that my plans are not going to change.I will keep working hard to be ready to do next preseason like any another player

Thanks to every person who works in mariners, every teammate, G Arnold, every fan and every amateur player in the coast!!!

In response to a question about why he didn't thank Moss, he said:
@TonyBelica I dont have any problem with Moss- I am thankful that he told m his decision straight and in good time- but Arnold brought me :)

That one positive. We missed the post-match having a young non-member with us to get home.

Perhaps another way would have been to break it to the members there, allow him to say what he did and formally announce it today. I noticed that during the game he was shown on the big screen and wondered what the commentators were saying.

I guess I also knew if Marcos has blitzed it for us this season (while Victory were picking up the tab) we probably couldn't afford to have kept him for the next. But there's a bit of kicking a man when he's down to release him while injured. I'd love to see him still in the A-League and (a first for me about an ex-Mariner) I'd probably be happy for him to score against us ...as long as we scored more ;) or hope he gets a great gig somewhere else.

Had no idea at the game & saw the big screen & thought it was cause he is running again.

As the thread goes

"Macrcos Flores Gets It" - Problem is it's the boot.

. problem is nobody else 'gets it' ... he has made more effort to connect emotionally with the coast than anyone else i can remember
He went beyond no doubt. Real shame as a personality goes - I was sitting watching the ACL game on my own & he walked over from the western side to come & chat with some Est. 15 yr old girls team from CCM just behind me. He sat there the whole time talking to them & just enjoying having people to hangout with. He was swarmed like bees to honey. The girls loved him but so did the boys.
but did he really do anything on the pitch that was unbeliveable that would justify the wages over the players we have?
There was a lot of debate about him not making it past 60mins. He only fit with Dukey on the field. Really thought they were a deadly combo. Also th chopping & changing of coach didn't appear to go so well.

He will be missed but I'd say more off the field than on it. IMO - In saying that plenty liked him on the field to.
