There were no free kids tickets to this match as it is run by the FFA - hence the dodgy crowd figure.

Was going to say that about the kids as well. My 10 y/o even commented as to why they hadn't announced the crowd at about 80 mins. Normally its up about 65-70 mins.

My guess was around 12000ish so I was surprised as well with the figure.

On the game, once Brisbane lost their time on the ball thanks to pressure, errors crept into their game. As long as we get past Perth, I'm confident after the way we played between the 20-70th mins that we can knock them up.

Third yellow in finals series gets you suspended for next game.
This becomes another benefit to the first team into the grandfinal as they play only two preliminary games whist the second team into the GF play 3 games.

Also does that mean that if a player gets his third yellow (of the finals)
in the GF he misses the first game of the following season?

Talking to Joketek at the moment and have been told that there are no members allocated seats available. I got the same when i tried to book on-line as it wouldn't accept my pax numbers.

Had to very forcefully insist that the operator checked with their helpdesk to get anywhere at all & still on hold...

F**k i'm over this ticket problem every year!!

Just been told that my pax numbers are incorrect!

I pointed out that these have been in use all year and that we used them for the game on the weekend and was told that they use the NRL (!!!!) supplied numbers. When I pointed out it is an FFA event was told to call back in "2 hours or so" and hopefully it will be sorted out.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I was just successful on-line, but couldn't book non-reserved along with reserved, so had to pay booking fee / ezy ticket twice!

Thankful for small mercies I suppose.

Still can't get my pax numbers to work and I'm absolutely over it. Will watch on Fox.

I'm sure they'll just make up the crowd numbers anyway so we wouldn't be missed.....

From what I can deduce from page 4, if Wilko or Dutchy gets a 3rd yellow in our last game (whether it is a loss vs Glory, or in the GF), they must serve the suspension!

"Match suspensions incurred as a result of the accumulation of yellow cards in either the pre-season, regular season or final series must be served in the next A-league match the club competes whether that be in the pre-season, regular season or final series"

Interesting...but do we still have official a-league pre-season matches?

FFA sanctioned pre-season matches do exist. For example our pre-season game against Wellington was FFA sanctioned and allowed Pasfield to serve the last game of his suspension from last season.

I was pissed off after the game and even more pissed off after seeing Ange on FoxSports news.

Just re-watched the game. In spite of starting terribly it could easily have been 4-1 to us at half-time and Brisbane down to 9 players.

Lol, that's an optimistic way of looking at it :p Unrealistic though, as it doesn't take into account the effect on the match that goals have.

1 minutes - Nichols offside no goal.

That one has me stumped - all the teachings, circulars etc that have come down over the last few years would point to that being a very clear case of 'passive' offside (ie no reason to disallow the goal) - yet Mark Shield (now the referee's boss) says it should have been offside.

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/Shield-opinion-display/Nicholss-goal-shouldnt-have-stood/46779

Can't see how that fits in with everything FIFA have been saying for the last few years...

Then again he says he isn't sure about Henrique's handball - I didn't know rugby-style chargedowns were allowed now!

41 minute Henrique handball should be panlty and yellow for denying a clear attcking move, Henrique off should be 4-1,

I also think that Patrick should not have got a yellow since Henrique was offside at the time. Sainsbury, however, should have been a red.

Heh, he wasn't even close to offside - which means it should've been a clear red. So for both finals, the referees have stuffed up a DOGSO red in our favour.

Anyway, you also forgot to throw in all the dives and acting of Berisha....BR are fast becoming my 2nd most hated team (MV being the first) from all their scumbag, thuggish and cheating antics.

Fox Sports replay is ordinary (their website is a disgrace), but it looked like Berisha took a dive on Sainsbury's yellow. Hard to tell.

All I've seen is the Match Centre replays, but it seemed like CCM had all but given up by the time the 3rd goal came around. Arms up in the air, nobody seemed particularly upset about it. After that watching their reactions, it looked to me like perhaps they weren't focussed on the job anymore, perhaps focussing on the ref too much? As I said though, I didn't really see it all.

Kwassie seemed to be back to his old form, putting in the hard yards with moments of brilliance.

Can't help but think this ACL campaign has really stuffed us around leading into the finals and for these semi legs - perhaps we've been a victim of our own success? If it wasn't for those games we might've had a better chance.

"It was a difficult one because the ball hung in the air for so long but Mitch did rush towards the line of sight of Mat Ryan and I think it’s pretty clear that constitutes interfering with play. In that instance our expectation would be that the assistant referee would penalise that as offside."
Basically as soon as he interfered with Mat Ryan's line of sight it's no longer passive.

Ah, stupid me - I was looking at the wrong offside player. Didn't realise Nicholls was attempting to head the ball there. That changes everything.

There, he's pretty clearly in the way of Ryan's view of the ball, thus is interfering with an opponent, and the attempt to head the ball would also fulfil that aspect of offside.

Yes, very poor decision then. Probably the kind of decision that should've seen the AR call over Gillett to discuss it with him, really...

I realise it was optimistic - I think the main point was to get away from the everyone being down and say there was plenty to like in our performance. For long periods we were the dominant side.

Heh, he wasn't even close to offside - which means it should've been a clear red. So for both finals, the referees have stuffed up a DOGSO red in our favour.

The linesman was signalling for what I thought was Henrique being offside and I thought Henrique was offside. If he was onside Patrick was lucky - but the ball was moving and Ryan was standing on the edge of the box. Definitely a yellow for Patrick if Henrique is onside and a possible red if the ref thought he would beat Ryan to the ball.

Well, the signal is the same for offside and for defensive foul (flag up in the right hand, it's only after the whistle goes that the signal changes), and there'd be no reason to signal offside at that point anyway as Henrique wasn't involved.. The MC replay shows that he's well onside, can't see Matt Ryan though. Still, you're looking at 30 yards difference with Henrique in full flight. I think it's safe to say that we were very lucky to keep Patrick there.

(annoying enough, ball out for a goal kick, a corner kick or attacking throw also has the same signal.....)

Also, when Henrique scored Patrick handled the ball again - had Roar not received the advantage, he would've been booked again (the ref could still easily have booked him for that), so we were a bit lucky there, as we were with Rose in Round 1.

Unfortunately I missed this game (was camping out near Mildura), but I'd sure hope that we played better than we did on the first leg!

While I'm very pessimistic of our chances if we get into the grand final, we can' forget last year when we would've won it, if the ref hadn't decided that rugby league tackles in the dying minutes of extra time were suddenly allowed......and that was after a fairly lacklustre semi final campaign as well. So who knows, we're just way too unpredictable these days.

We're a better team than roar - the premiership proves that. Just depends which CCM side shows up on the day.

Yes we were a better team.. Until Matt Simon and Griffiths were sold.
