Jets fan and 2-0 up. Still wondering how it wasnt 3-3.
Can't see many/any local players getting a start for socceroos so return match will be as is.
How many times have ya seen a ref give a pen then a return? Watched the replay and a serious ref wouldve waived both.
2 weeks is a long time and we dont think for a minute that we're in the GF. I thought jonny was gonna explode at halftime

The fans were quite well behaved. a couple of minor incidents aside. Nothing that needed 30 police to form an escort to the train station. Found the security quite strict outside and inside the ground. The banners confiscated at the gate was quite ridiculous.

shocking... he admits it too... I fell off my chair :p

You've probably got the wrong "Fish".  My son's nickname is Fish (he and all his mates are Marinators), and while I used to be called Graham (my name), I'm now known as Fish's dad...

Got to try and be positive about the return match at Bluetongue, but realistically it's going to be a tall order. I've no doubt that we could score 3 on a good day. The problem would be stopping Newcastle from scoring. Short of signing/kidnapping/plying Griffiths with alcohol, I'm just not convinced we have a mean enough defence to keep a clean sheet.

In my whole life I have never seen a bloke (Aloisi) have so much bad luck in a football game. Good for us admittedly, but in hindsight I can't help feel for the bloke.

As for the onside goal that was disallowed I though GVE summed it up pretty well as in against Sydney this year Griffo was disallowed an onside goal and judged offside which would have given us a point and gave us the Premiers plate. Bad call, but you win some, lose some. Thats football.

Scoreline aside, I think we all agree that our game crapped all over that terrible Sydney/Qld game.

we dominated early ball, and you guys scored against run of play, its how football goes. as for Aloisi's missed penalty, probably a bit of pressure there - probably something similar to his world cup qualifier one I'd say. and yeah the onside goal incident.. it's because the sideline refs don't keep up with the movement of the game, they stay on their heels when it comes to running so they are lazy at their job. I'm not biased about it.. it's common no matter whose playing who in the A-League. But we all know FFA is too slow to react any problems with anything football.. its called 'I have a huge piggy bank it may be overflowing.. but I want to fill my pockets at the same time'.

Agreed and on the back of performances on the weekend, I cannot see anything but a Grand Final consisting of Newcastle and the Central Coast ...

John aloisi didn't have the best of games but you must admit he did make some chances. The game on the 10th will hopefully be a different outcome. As long as we make it to the grand final i don't really care how we get there as long as we do i would be happy either way. P.S GO THE MARINERS!!!!

The situation we are in at the moment is very similar to us going into the last round. No one was confident we could win the premiership. "No way Adelaide could beat the Roar" we all said.

We may not have had luck on the weekend but overall the football gods have been smiling on us all year. 2 nil to the mariners at bluetonge. Mariners win on penalties 3-1 because the only person that can score a penalty for Newcastle is Jo-elle. Mariners scrape into the grand final!!!!

...perhaps, or like Tottenham we can crush our rival 5-1 in a Grand Final qualifying Cup game to end an unfortunate losing streak against them. That I would much rather preffer!

"There's no benefit for us in under-representing a crowd . . . we would love to have announced a record crowd, but the reality is that's the number that came through the gate."

Mark was dubious about whether fans would have been allowed entry without scanning their tickets.

"All the security staff and event staff were on radios, and if there was an entry point where people weren't scanning tickets, we would have known about it," he said.

"We'll investigate that if it warrants it, but at the moment we believe the number we reported was the correct number according to the tickets scanned."

did anyone get into EAS without having their ticket scanned??
This seco Adam Mark states that is not possible.

Sorry but that's an absurd comparison. Every team has calls ALL YEAR which effect whether they walk away with extra points. And we have certainly had more than one. So to compare a "current" poor decision in the major semi with another poor decision that also "just so happens" to illustrate how you were simply unlucky not too get the Premiers plate is at the least a poor choice - and easily construed as offensive. We deserved the Premiers plate and it deservedly ended up with us. And I hope GVE had the grace to mention that also.

I entered through the southern entry just near the bridge.

Line was about 100m long . End line was moving twice as fast so I hopped on that. Security were just tearing off the tab. I was inside within a minute as were hundreds of others.

That is your opinion, GVE doesnt have to mention anything that you have an opinion of.

Also i read the Mariners will be writing a letter to the FFA about their poor record when Breeze refs the game, it is an interesting article. Also states that you have a poor record with Shields as ref.

Same here as offtheball.  At the southern end of the ground at the exit gate to the right of the ticket barriers (Which were in some white construction) there were two security guards letting in a heap of people through the gates.  This was 5 minutes before kickoff and I figured they were doing it because the lines for the proper queues were huge.

Since me and the missus had white internet tickets they just eyeballed us and let us through.  I did see that they were taking some stubs from those who had formal tickets.

I dont think the article is about how poor of a ref either of them are, i think it is saying how poor your results are when they ref

If i had time i wouldnt mind looking at some stats for when he refs the Jets. I am also pissed when we get him as a ref

He is just a shit ref in general.

when three coaches (Mckinna, Vidmar, Farina) have had something to say about the guy, there is something wrong.
