ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Agree with Jaza n co, but seeing him Tweeting at Half time was not a good sight in comparison to Aurelio hammering the whiteboard. Adelaide won, we lost... I dunno but good marketing i guess.
x 2!! I agree that it is a good marketing tool to get fans involved.... but doing this at half time is a little absurd to me. Before and after the match would be fine but not during the game, especially one we were NOT dominating!!

+1

He's making himself out to be a bit of a prat (even though he's not)........it's one thing 'tweeting' but being seen on live TV doing it during a match that we go on to lose 3-0 ?

Well he's leaving himself wide open imo.

Enter Foster later on today.

Take a tip Lawrie......'tweeting' is for the under 15's.

Oh really is i t now?, so because i am over the age of 15yrs, im not allowed to use twitter?

Actually, I think Twitter would have the highest average age (by some distance) of all recent social media phenomenons. It has a generally very mature audience.

Lawrie responded to a good crack about Steve Corica today quite honestly - good man.

Pull Your Head in Lawrie!!! Numskull

i agree A-League coaches engaging the community is totally wrong, all A-league clubs should ban coaches from doing anything that may engage the community. oh and while the we are at it. lets put a cap on the crowds at bluetongue as well, that would be another great way of getting people into the game..?

also twitter is the most appropriate site for what he is aiming to do. which is telling us small details about the team which otherwise we most likely wouldn't get to hear.

Ah well I got used to texting after about 10 years.............

twitter is just simply a site where you write in about 130 characters what you are doing.. and then you read what others are doing.. or in lawries case he writes news about the team, its not really for communicating with others i.e having a conversation more letting them know what you are doing.and twitter is very celebrity based as well.. facebook is more for networking.

Its a great idea he is engaging the community but for 120 minutes a week pull your head in Lawrie and leave the thing alone. Whether you were only on it for a couple of minutes is irrelavant. Your team is nil all at half time in a tough battle. The tv camera shows you head down in your blackberry at half time. Your team loses three - nil. Only leaves you wide open for criticism.

Fox sports asked Lawrie to twitter during half time last Saturday, he did not wish to at first. But they managed to persuade him by saying that they'd give it a plug etc.

He did not deserve the roasting that the commentators gave him.
The following day Fox called Lawrie to apologise.

Straight from the big man himself.

I think it's a great way to communicate with the fans, as previously mentioned it only takes a few seconds and it makes us feel closer to the team. As for tweeting during half time, I doubt a tweet can change the way 22 men play a game.

Lawrie - Keep being awesome!
