ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

wrong code??...what else do you call them things they bang into the back of the net ??

Score some goals....not kick some goals Recky.

Anyway who cares and the Sutton pic was excellent so don't worry about it.

Have not seen anything yet to suggest to me that he should be in front of Bernie, McBreen or even Hearfield (or possibly even Duke).

Hope he proves me wrong but his chances to do that will probably be few and far between from here on in.

Perhaps John Sutton is having a tough time with Australian temperatures, having just come out of the middle of a Scottish winter.

If this is the case, he has absolutely no excuses in China!

Really hope it's just the heat affecting him. I thought he did well against Wellington (on a cool day) but has been anonymous against GCU and Heart. Too early to judge though, lets give him time.

It is too early. He has shown great touch and strength so far. (Oh and a wilful desire to take pens :innocent: )

Apart from that he has played tow games, in a tight schedule, against pacey opposition, where we have struggled, and he has struggled to get into the game. That is it.

I just wish we had him longer to allow Clarkey to fine tune hime.
At present his build is more suited to the heavy grounds of Scotland & not the fast playing surfaces we have here.
It will take him a while to adjust.
We just have to be patient.

Honestly, he looks shit. The opposite of Matt Simon who had plenty of desire and hunger on the field.

I have nothing against the guy as a person and really hope he can prove me wrong.

I ran into him the other day. He seems a nice enough guy. Early in the game on the weekend Musti took a header that he put wide. I would have loved for him to let it go through to John who was sitting a couple of metres to the right of him - loosely marked. I suspect he would have put it away, and I really think this is the kind of service he needs from deep and wide. He is not Matt Simon, and he hasn't suited our nortmal play, but that doesn't mean we can't use him.

Sutton looks far better than Matty did in his first 10-15 games for CCM but he was a local junior. Sutton has a good pedigree and has played a higher standard than HAL.
So what is wrong?
His touch is good and he is physically strong but is movement is poor and his work rate is average.
I'd have picked him as our best partner for Bernie but after sats game...I'm not so sure.
Once he scores the floodgates could open and I'm tipping at training he looks like a legend but he looked lost at times on sat. It's either the formation is different to what he's used to or he is actually shite.
Jury is open on this fella.

Edit: He couldnt cut it a marginally higher level than HAL.

Lazy, unfit and for the wage, we could have actually got someone who remotely looked like they added to the team. On an annualised basis, this guy is on more than Berisha and close to what Archie is on.

Being played to avoid admitting a mistake Id guess.
