My favourite transfer related expression. Closely followed by "come and get me plea".

Playing them in NYL means 8 games a season. I also think the club has the right to deny them the opportunity to play in NPL if they want to as well. I wonder if their contract allows the club to play them in NSWPL2?

8 games in the next 1.5 years is not a very exciting prospect for the members of Pea Heart FC.

Have you noticed that all of the recent posts from TW are around playing for the badge and the character of our newer players? He said in the pre game that he had had a period of reflection after the Sydney game and decided to make some changes to the way they do things.

Hutch was really fired up about how in the early years we didnt have great players, we didnt have any money but we worked harder and fought more than anyone else. We got results.

Looks like the no dick head policy is back.

Yeah had noticed that. And it shone in the last game. Nice to feel proud and passionate again. Walmsley and Hutch have been doing it about as tough as you can get it. Loving the fight in them.

Of course press is bound to start in on our cruel repression of earnest talented young players who can't be blamed for wanting to BREAK their contracts when the going gets tough.

We do not have MV's calibre. but we at least we may be able to match them in spirit this time.

I've liked the idea of Williams at the Mariners for years. Used to think the same of Travis Dodd until he retired. Quality, capable and (when in form) impressive players who would fit the Mariners culture beautifully.
That said I'm wondering these days with Williams as his form is a bit hot and cold from what I've seen (may not be fair, I don't watch all of their games), and a hot/cold player may not be quite what we need right now. Then again it may be his chance to flourish - worked for McBreen!

Yeah he's always been inconsistent, but in all honesty Fury looks like the only place he was ever truly settled. You'd watch him super sub and score at other clubs or even start and have a great game, and still be dropped the following week. Has always baffled me and me think he should have come here where he'd be appreciated.

As a former Heart fan Willow can be star but he can also be the most frustrating player in existence (I still remember how he basically single handedly beat Sydney after we went down to 10 men). Then followed that by not scoring another goal for the rest of the season. I think with the right coaching he could be the best striker the A-League has ever seen but whether Tony Walmsley is capable of providing that coaching I'm not sure.

I was surprised that he was second on the goals ladder one season.
He got something about him. We could do worse.

David Williams has pulled out of the swap between City & Adelaide (for Osama Malik), and is rumoured to be going to the scum:
http://www.foxsports.com.au/footbal...united-swap-deal/story-e6frf4gl-1227697508744

Would it be worth trying to pinch him?
Yes
Could lead the line when Roy gets suspended
Could cover Roy and Ferreria if not starting.

Can we afford him - not on current contract that has 6 months to go
But we can offer playing time but a reduced contract will be coming but reduced enough for us?

The beauty of the 'Willow' deal is that TW only has to focus on the Melb.City "ARE willing to off-load you David! Why stay at a club that doesnt believe in you??"

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Anthony Caceres could be set for a move overseas with two clubs looking to sign him during the January transfer window.

The transfer saga involving the 23-year-old midfielder has taken another twist after one club from Europe and another from Japan joined the race to sign the want-away player this month. After attracting interest from rival A-League clubs awaiting his release from the Mariners, it's understood the overseas clubs have entered preliminary discussions with his management and could trigger his release clause of $500,000.

The highly rated midfielder is eager to leave the struggling Mariners and requested a release from the final years of his contract. Caceres is on the outer having been dropped from the first team and forced to play with the youth squad by coach Tony Walmsley. The club is actively looking to part ways with the player but only for either a significant transfer fee or a trade deal with a rival A-League club and are reluctant to let him leave for free.

So money on our new striker being Guyon Fernandez after Perth terminated his contract to get Keogh back in "under the cap" (still cant see how that'll work)

from the courier mail
Fernandez played just five games for the Glory since arriving in Perth in September, but his time at the club was plagued by foot and hamstring issues.
The striker has only managed the full 90 minutes once.

from the herald sun
Perth Glory's finals hopes have been boosted after successfully negotiating the contract termination of dud Dutch striker Guyon Fernandez

Apparently they paid out a fair chunk of his contract so he would be cheap, sounds like a signing we would make.
Didnt think much of him in the round 1 game.

Owe him a lot. Thanks for the penalty. 3 of our precious points are because of him.
Better not sign him was awful, surely we wouldn't go for him with his injuries this season

Just watched a couple of experienced strikers. They both scored. Is 54 and 57 experienced enough ;)
