ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Just seen Robert Cornthwaite was let go in Malaysia before Xmas and talking about returning to the A-League. He would be a good addition for us and give us some experience in the team.

Wasn't he released and and the fans kicked up a stink and so he was resigned?

Besides he's saying Roy should get 5 weeks

Actually probably the best result for us claiming 5 weeks.

Most fox calling for 6 minimum.

As Dibo says not uncalled for and even Roy acknowledges its wrong.

That's why we get aggressive and go now. Give them playing time but also a taste of CCM see if they fit and if goes well they might want to stay.

Also on Clut and Borello I think are still on youth contracts. So we can afford them.

That is part of why City might be offering up D Williams to AU. His contract has 6 months left and he was on big money from his 3yr contract when he was or came off being Hearts Marquee.

Soccer Stoppage Time saying Borello's management do not want to re-sign at Roar. Might be worth a shot.

My Mrs loves watching 'Willow' play, since his Fury days.
Often bemoaning me, "Why can't he play for us ???"

He'd definitely suit our counter-attacking style, coming on for either Fab or Austin. The way Austin has been allowed to 'hang-out' wide would also be to Williams liking. Can play up front in a pair if needed.

Interesting side note:
Once spoke to ex-Scummer Adam D'apuzzo and his Dad at one of our games when they came to watch brother David (ex-Mariner) when we played the NQFury at Blue Tongue.

Williams was superb that day against us. In general conversation Adam & his Dad both agreed that David Williams was witout a doubt the most talented out of all the Footballers that they had seen coming through the system in both his son's age groups. Willow is 27, same age as David - Adam's now 29.

My Mrs paid note & has enjoyed watching him ever since. Maybe her wishes might come true.

I'd have him! & NOT because it'd make her happy. ;)

David Williams has pulled out of the swap between City & Adelaide (for Osama Malik), and is rumoured to be going to the scum:

Would it be worth trying to pinch him?

Always wanted to see Williams at the Mariners. Huge talent and heart, but he's never had a club willing to back him for a full season because he's erratic. Like Mrs Rowdy, always thought he'd be a great fit as a Mariner.

I wouldnt be surprised if MC holds out for a real transfer fee. If AC is regarded as an asset with a value, why would he allow him to be released with his contract paid out?

I'd rather see if we could swap Caceres for Malik.

Aw hell no... I remember watching that Adelaide game at Bluetongue, two seasons back (or three? - Can't remember anymore)... The one where it was pouring down and we beat them - in part I think courtesy of Dukey providing a bit of shock and awe.
Anyway, I remember watching Malik in that game, wondering htf he wasn't either subbed off or sent off, courtesy of cards galore, by half time... He was all over that place.
Since then, he's struck me as being pretty hot-and-cold... When he's hot he's really pretty good, when he's cold, I'd almost rather Bosnar ;)

Maybe they'd swap Jeggo? ;)

Central Coast Mariners are playing hardball with transfer-seeking Anthony Caceres and owner Mike Charlesworth insists he is prepared to let the midfielder play out the remainder of his contract in the Mariners youth team if an adequate deal cannot be agreed.

Well - there we go... Looks like the club's showing a bit of backbone... Good on them... I'm sure they'll cop plenty of criticism for it though, but nice to see them drawing a line in relation to all the Arnie-runners.

Malik as a second 6 would be mega - always reminded me a bit of Rostyn Griffiths or Erik Paartaluu - big, but mobile, can pass, can tackle. That said, we've got Monty having a ridiculously good season and McGing stepping up... Could do with some cover there anyway.

Jeggo would definitely be handy, but I don't see them letting him go unless it's for an overseas deal with a pile of cash.

Good isn't it? Mr Rallis might need to rethink the strategy for his client.

"Wantaway"

My favourite transfer related expression. Closely followed by "come and get me plea".

Playing them in NYL means 8 games a season. I also think the club has the right to deny them the opportunity to play in NPL if they want to as well. I wonder if their contract allows the club to play them in NSWPL2?

8 games in the next 1.5 years is not a very exciting prospect for the members of Pea Heart FC.

Have you noticed that all of the recent posts from TW are around playing for the badge and the character of our newer players? He said in the pre game that he had had a period of reflection after the Sydney game and decided to make some changes to the way they do things.

Hutch was really fired up about how in the early years we didnt have great players, we didnt have any money but we worked harder and fought more than anyone else. We got results.

Looks like the no dick head policy is back.

I've liked the idea of Williams at the Mariners for years. Used to think the same of Travis Dodd until he retired. Quality, capable and (when in form) impressive players who would fit the Mariners culture beautifully.
That said I'm wondering these days with Williams as his form is a bit hot and cold from what I've seen (may not be fair, I don't watch all of their games), and a hot/cold player may not be quite what we need right now. Then again it may be his chance to flourish - worked for McBreen!
