ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hmmm, I've never been a member (what's the use when you're working when most of the home games are being played?) but there's a chance that I'll actually get a membership next season.

Don't agree with you on the COE thing TB.

Smaller regional clubs survive best by producing their own talent and then selling it for dosh at the right time. We'll never be big enough to just go out and by the best so we need to produce our own talent imo.

Apart from that I agree with a lot of what you say.

Agree with you mate about the importance of producing our own talent but I just think it is such an ambitious project for a business that is already walking a tight rope trying to balance the books. If the COE goes belly up I hope it doesn't mean the end of the mariners.

doubt that money is being put to that ahead of players....

Then whats the reason we haven't recently bought a marquee player, replaced Fergie or filled our squad. The reason is the money is going into the COE.

Am I correct in thinking that any young players developed by the CoE wont be CCM players unless signed by the club?

Arent they 2 distinct legal entities.

Meaning if CCM fell over, the CoE could continue as a private money making exercise into the development and potential sale of young players?

There might be some sort of 'first option' clause in any young player's contract (to whatever extent you can squeeze that past the FFA and PFA).
