I'm renewing my membership next year

me and Johnboy will be renewing same as always - great seats in Bay 6, great bunch of people around us and a triumphant torturous scintillating frustrating season of football.

Who could ask for more.

Hi all new poster but been a member since V1,

There are 4 of us in my family, my brother has a family membership and my mum has one too and of course we will all be renewing our membership! 

You live through the heartstopping wins, the heartbreaking losses and the heartache and frustration of those games in between but you never give up on the team you love and we wont let the end of this season stop us from being there to support our team next season

At present I'm leaning towards telling them to stick the membership up their ****. To me its been a year of lies and deceit by the CCM management and basically treating members like idiots

- Canberra - Don't think I need to go into that again. Anyone going to crusty demons?

COE - This may not come into the category of lies and deceit. I'm all for developing talent and providing the best facilities but shouldn't this be done by the FFA, government etc. Is it just a coincidence that the Mariners haven't done well since the COE has been announced. IMO this is where the majority of our money is going for the sake of buying players and replacing Fergie. We used to be a club that bought some of the best available talent - Vidmar, Aloisi, Bosnic. Some say the reason was the GFC but they still found money to build the COE

I think its great the Mariners will have a top class training facility but I do object to them spending heaps of money on developing players where the best will likely go overseas or to other A-league clubs with plenty of money that haven't spent it all on building, running and maintaining a COE.

Once the COE is set up and running soaking up the money and getting praise from the football community, guess who is going to benefit. The CCM management who can add it to their resume and go off and get a better job climbing the corporate ladder. Meanwhile CCM have to keep funding the COE while money for the players suffers.

- What happened to the Mariners supporting the Marinators and the members. Previous years they gave away some tickets in a box to each home game to the Marinators. It was great and got the crowd into the Kendall. Another great decision by the CCM managment? Also what happened to the post game function at the bowling club?

My plan is to give away my membership and just buy a ticket to the game to support the players.
Yes I will have to pay more money.
Yes I will lose my seat
Yes I will not get any stickers or a key ring.

At least they wont get my membership for their stats. Just my way of protesting against the management but still supporting the players.

PS were we promised a Mariners movie night with our membership this year?

CCLC gave the marinators free box tickets. Not CCMFC.

Don't agree with you on the COE thing TB.

Smaller regional clubs survive best by producing their own talent and then selling it for dosh at the right time.We'll never be big enough to just go out and by the best so we need to produce our own talent imo.

Teddy i agree that to a degree we are being ripped off a little by management and i hated the canberra games too, as a single mum of 3 it wasnt an option to travel to Canberra, also miss the post match functions but thats management not the players.

Yes performances have been ordinary of late but its our team!  You have good years and bad but keep coming back for more because otherwise u will miss that awesome performance from them and kick yourself!


Will never forget the 3-0 comeback in Sydney, it felt like a win!!!  Such an awesome performance and i was there!    You have your good games and bad but you stick by your team
