It's an extremely low percentage of those on the left who actually are far, nut-job-level, left. I'd describe myself as left of centre but also am disgusted by those extreme, borderline insane views.
Just like it's a low percentage of those on the right who are far right neo-Nazi / fascists, who I'm equally disgusted by.
Assuming anyone with left or right views is at the the extreme end is frankly juvenile.
In reality, like many people, I have views on both sides. I believe in self responsibility and the ability to create your own future. I also believe we should share the costs and responsibilities on some things, like healthcare and education.
Also, wokism isn't what those trying to demonise the left claim. They say woke and mean extreme left - but that's naive and is not at all what it means.

I agree with everything you say except for the wokism bit. I think that is refers to social activism and this is confronting for those of us who are socially conservative and feel the need to push back.
It predates the appearance of the term 'woke' but here is an example of 'woke' by people walking on eggshells either trying too hard to not offend, or worse finding offence where none exists.
A few decades ago historians decided to change the term AD [anno domini-latin for the "year of our lord"] because of a [non existent] concern that it's christian reference may be offending non-christians. So instead CE [for Common Era] was substituted with basically the same baseline.
They clearly didn't notice that for hundreds of years [in which time the western world was much more devout] we have been using days of the week named after pagan gods and months of the year named after ancient Roman gods. I am an atheist but before the scales fell from my eyes I was never offended by these names. Is anybody???
To change them now would be just as stupid as changing zero degrees from Greenwich [which may have colonial overtones -shock horror] and countries/cultures having maps and time-zones using their own points of reference. An just as stupid as changing AD to CE

I have voted Lib, Labor, Independent (the wonderful Ted Mack) and Dems (back before a woke/green moron destroyed that party). I'm not stuck in any ideology i just want normal people in charge. For example, I'm not a fan of Albo, but apart from his misguided YES campaign, he has remained reasonably objective and has not been the terrible PM i was expecting.
