Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The Midfielders Report - live from Ettalong

Week 1 .... wow what a week of dramatic discussion, debate and dialogue ...

Tuned out of most ... stayed away from most media essentially turned off ... but kept and eye out for something inspiring [I know I dream] ... if not inspiring.... well really bad ...

First the Dud ... he continues his attack on everything about the Phoney ... pops up everywhere ... love a cartoon last week sometime and it had a "Where's Wally" with pictures of the Dud everywhere and one hidden one of the Phoney... Budget blow out HHHHMMMmmmm 30 billion like wow ... The Dud is a God he has raised Peter B from his political death bed,- reminds me of Bill and Ben the flower pot men...

The Phoney ... he continues to accrue the ALP of everything known to inflict pain on human life... Joe Hockey is funny to watch as he changes feet to put in his mouth ...

From a far it seems the Libs have accepted the Dud is way more popular than the Phoney and are going after Brand ALP ... The ALP thinks brand ALP is on the nose so lets make a NEW L and make this a popularity contest between the Dud and the Phoney... at this level the Dud wins hands down..

The Dud will win the debate I think everyone expects this ... the Phoney needs to not loose badly ...

Only two things caught my interest during the week... Still waiting for the Phoney to actually say what he plans to do.... BUT without doubt the running of the PNG ads just pisses me off big time from a caretaker role..

On balance my view of the week is HHHHMMMMmmRRRRRR GGGGG ggggg Libs by a whisker .... the PNG ads is what's done it...

Eh? It's government policy. Do you expect ads for Medicare or ADF recruitment to stop as well?

I wonder where Tony's wedding ring got to? Find it a bit odd for such a family values guy that he had it off during the debate. Kevin seemed to keep his on, so couldn't have been a technical thing.

Lawrie McKinna MHR?

Singo's bankrolling McKinna to stand as an Independent in Robertson, along with Nathan Bracken in Dobell.

Announcements like that make me even more frustrated that Joe Hockey is my local MP...

He has to be better than a guy with a credit card and a hooker...

unlikely to win, so the direction of his preferences will be crucial.

Doesn't have to win to hand the seat to the major party of his choosing.

Backed by Singo, this is a very astute way of making the major parties jump to their tune.

And they will.

Oldie .... but still a laugh...

Kevin Rudd was visiting a primary school in Tasmania. One class was in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asked Mr. Rudd if he would like to lead the discussion on the word 'tragedy'. So the illustrious leader asked the class for an example of a 'tragedy'. A little boy stood up and offered: 'If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs over him and kills him, that would be a 'tragedy'. 'No,' said Rudd 'that would be an accident.' A little girl raised her hand: 'If a school bus carrying fifty children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy'. 'I'm afraid not,' explained Mr. Rudd 'that's what we would call great loss'. The room went silent. No other children volunteered. Rudd searched the room. 'Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?' Finally, at the back of the room, little Johnny raised his hand. In a quiet voice he said: 'If a plane carrying you was struck by a 'friendly fire' missile & blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy.' 'Fantastic!' exclaimed Rudd . 'That's right. And can you tell me why that would be tragedy?' 'Well,' says little Johnny 'it has to be a tragedy, because it certainly wouldn't be a great loss and it probably wouldn't be a f*cking accident either!'
