In my experience (I'm Scottish & love to sing) you need the song to have a few major things to get people involved.
1. A very strong first line. (People recognise & get involved from the start)
2. A very strong chorus. (This is where everyone will get involved)
3. It's got to be a bit quirky (They have fun singing this)
4. Recognition they need to have heard it before.(Covering most of the ages of fans that we attract)
5. Keep it simple (If there is some action on field it's easy to go back to the song)
6. Get our "Magic" band involved. (They can organise the Lead In or the Fill)

You can change some of the words to suit our team, but keep the majority of the song the same.
I'll post a few classics that may lend themselves to a "BIG" singalong.
