ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

How it can work out

Guys, don't forget Qld play their match in Adelaide AFTER the Sydney vs Tards, so if it does go according to plan, don't get too carried away. The fat lady wouldn't have sung yet. :piano: :piano:

Adelaide playing with nothing to lose..Look out Queensland!

Same thing can be said about Wellington - I think all the top 4 need to look out, there's no easy game.

Okay, for those of us who are going to the SFS on Sunday and plan sitting down the Melbourne end, the general concensus from their forum is that they don't have too much of a problem with it (some are like "f*ck off, you didn't win to get us into the finals", but there's not too many of them), but on the proviso of no colors and no Mariners songs.  Seems pretty simple.......

As much as I would have loved to, colors would probably have just caused sh*t in the end anyway, especially if Melbourne win.

i reckon we should have mariners gear with us, because if we win the league i want to be waving some yellow!

would probably just rather not be in the away end.

I'll be at the game for sure. Colours or not, etc, I'll decide on the day. imo we shouldn't sit in Melbourne's lap. Off to one corner at their end would be appropriate.

done and done.

and if melbourne are up, and we're staying top we can sing a song or two -

'you've lost that winning feeling
ooooh that winning feeling
you've lost that winning feeling
now it's gone, gone gone'

. back to 'how it can work out':

. i think a mariners win and three draws would do quite nicely, just like the start to the season

If we win by 2, Sydney can win by 1, Newcastle by 2.... then we only need to hope for 1 draw.

Still, start by gotta guaranteeing a win to even consider making the top 2

The equation is this should Sydney FC fail to beat the Victory by two goals or more, or score five or more goals and win by just one, the Mariners will finish the Hyundai A-League 2007/08 in at least second position and secure a berth in the Major Semi Final playoff series.

Furthermore, should the Queensland Roar record anything other than a win away to Adelaide United, coupled with the aforementioned equation involving Sydney FC, the Mariners will claim the Hyundai A-League Premiership.

The calculator on the Marinators homepage suggests that Sydney can beat us by either winning by 2 or more goals, or by scoring 3 or more goals and winning.  Am I wrong and confused?  The way I figure it is that Mariners will still top the league if Sydney loses, ties, or wins with a score of 1-0 or 2-1.  And pending Qld V Adelaide of course

According to the calculator, if Syd win 2-1 they go to equal points, equal GD and equal goals for - so they beat us on head-to-head, right?
