ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm a Football Family member, so I'm assuming on Friday I'll go to the ticketek site and they'll ask for my details before I can buy tickets?

Ticket prices are over the top. My rough calculation is that there's around 8000 Cat A seats.  For this GF, do the FFA think that 8000 people will buy $80 tickets, especially as there are no child/family discounts?

I suspect that the pricing was done with a Sydney FC grand final in mind, for whom I've got no doubt they'd sell those seats given Sydney's much larger population and lesser reliance on families to make up their audience (i.e. there are lots more young people without kids and the disposable income to buy those tickets). The FFA don't seem to have had the foresight to come up with a Plan B for a GF at the SFS that doesn't involve Sydney (although its been publicly mooted for weeks). I can't imagine that too many people from the Coast or Newcastle will buy those tix, not out of lack of interest, but through not being able to afford them. I can picture lots of empty seats on the eastern (i.e. sunny) side lower tier. Which is where the TV cameras spend most of the game. Won't that be a great image for the A-League's 'marquee' game?

I can't imagine that the gate receipts from one game (albeit the season showcase) would be that significant in the FFA's total budget. If they sold tickets at the same price as the rest of the finals series they might lose, say, $500,000 (assuming a bigger crowd but cheaper tix). Having a visibly empty stadium would be bad for the image of the A-League. This has financial effects - sponsors want to back a winner. The FFA aren't only being greedy about this, they're being pretty financially stupid.

this is totally over the top.....how can FFA expect us to fork out that, AND fork out for trains (and spend at least 2 hours travelling each way to a home game) ?  I've contacted Total Football....Sydney Morning Herald...Daily telegraph and the Express Advocate expressing my disgust/disappointment..... :redcard:

I have 3 children I've taken to all of the home games this season.....2 still at school (but over 16) and one over 18 but unemployed.....so I either watch it on TV with them....or go without them 'cos I can't afford to buy them tickets.

Isn't public transport normally included for big events like this?

Especially with a cricket match underway before kick-off, I would expect parking would be a nightmare -> special public transport arrangements should be in place??

gialloblu & almost retired.

Put this in perspective.

If we want this game to grow the FFA (CCM v whoever) need the revenue.

If the A-League were to play as many games as they do in Europe/UK/Asia (and I think the USA), how much would you be paying per season?

GET REAL if you are a true supporter of the code and want to see Bluetongue Stadium packed with the YELLOW & NAVY at every home game.

I understand that Ticketek are offering a ticket/transport deal to the game.

The Marinators fan club will most likely be organising transport as well.

Given the fan base I wouldn't be surprised if the club isn't planning on doing something as well.

I know that the arranged coach transport worked well for the first grand final, although I did hear that many didn't take that option as they needed to make their way to CCLC. Is it worth having discussions with local coach operators to run transport down the coast and onto Sydney with several pick-up points along the way instead of the one meeting point. Families might be more willing to take up this option. We could even use the argument that we'd rather spend our dollars on the coast than pay the ridiculous parking fee at SFS!!

Cool. Doesn't concern me anyway, I was mainly replying to the start of almost retired's post. Thanks for the answers though.

i dont think the marinators will be organizing transport because they are organiing to get a whole stack of tickets for people who want to stand and sing.

Marinershell,

Fair point but it costs less to drive (and park) to CCLC from either north or south of the coast than driving all the way to the game. The expense for say Castle Coaches (based in Gosford), to take an empty bus up to Mannering Park and travel back down again would be prohibitive.

Maybe not, but if they wont to get serious about recruiting paying members they have to do both.

Ok, here we go with details of available Grand Final Tickets on offer directly through the Marinators Club:

Before we get into it, it should be noted that the tickets we offer will be in a large block of Bay23 (cove) where everyone will be STANDING, SINGING, and WEARING YELLOW. If you want to sit down to watch the game, these tickets are probably not for you.
If I hear of ANYONE in bay 23 being told to 'sit down', I will get Auburn Mariner to eat the offender!

Also, the words in all marinators chants are reasonably ok for most people to join in and listen to and the atmosphere is usually full of passion, fun and banter, but we should remember that this IS Grand Final day and the Marinators Club are not the 'fun police' so if you are easily offended by football chant type words, and passion, have a think about it.
Ticketek office in the Leagues Club is offering Bus & Ticket package for all those who want to go but don't neccesarily want/need to be in the thick of the action
http://marinators.net/forum/index.php?topic=761.0

  • Tickets are available to Marinators Club members only (maximum of 4 per member - if you need more than that so you can stand with your friends, GET THEM TO JOIN! ;) ) People can join in the Leagues Club bottle shop if needed.
  • All tickets will be Cat C Adult tickets in Bay 23 (no concessions) @ $50 each
  • All tickets need to be paid for on Friday 15th Feb between 6pm - 8pm at the Central Coast Leagues Club (cash only)
  • These tickets ARE limited and it will be strictly first in best dressed - NO COMPLAINTS
  • Once this 'block' is gone, there will be no more as the rest will go on sale to the public and we can't guarantee who will get them
  • Marinators Club will not be organising buses as the organising of these tix at short notice is enough to do, however, we will help co-ordinate the usual 'Yellow Train' for all who want to take part in the now traditional walk to the SFS from central station(via the KB of course ;) )

There we are folks, any questions fire away. Otherwise, see you on Friday!

How do we order/reserve them - PM or turn up on friday?

I understand where you are comming from, what you've suggested they have done in previous away games (ie to scum town), the marinators are serious but sometimes its just not possible to do everything.
