And then risk Griffiths getting a card and being suspended or playing with no DM?

I do like the look of a 4141 as we've discussed before. If the players are fit, which they are, and they can play sharp passing on the deck and break quickly in support of a lone striker, which they can, then there's no reason this couldn't be just as attacking or more so than our 442. But the change of shape could prove an obstacle for our intuitive movement and passing game.

But it would certainly keep Miron guessing. And for what it's worth, I think some extra mobility in the mids, especially coming off their last big away trip to Perth, could really hurt GCU.

4141

----------Ryan

Pedj -- Wilko -- Dutchy -- Rose

---------Griffiths

Weemac -- Amini -- Perez -- Olly

---------McBreen

Bench: Bernie. Hutch. Lewis.

Thats a pretty dangerous midfield. :pirashoot:

Alternatively, to stay with our usual 442 - I'm not sure I think giving Bernie a start against the likes of Djublic, Van Den Brink, Thwaite and Pantelidis would be such a good idea. Leave him for around 65 mins I would think... Tiring legs V creative young striker with a lot to prove... could equal gold.

Anyhow, if what Deej has indicated is true (which you can usually set your watch by) with Kwas out, if we were going to play 442, we would likely be looking at Amini or Hutch to CAM with Perez going upfront as CBowden mentioned. Or I guess you could play hutch wide left, Bozanic CAM and Perez upfront... But personally I think there's a very good case for looking to change as few positions as possible...

So for a 442 I would be looking at Hutch as Dog said, or Bernie to partner McBreen upfront. Though again - shifting Perez could screw up Miron's likley plans of - probably using Caravella as he has in the past on other teams to try and nullify him.

All in all, getting a look at Bernie, and having a look at a 4141 would be handy prior to the finals and is a bit of an exciting prospect as an experiment I think. :headbounce:

BUT, I may get a bit of stick on this one, but with second spot on the line, In truth I wouldn't hold it against Arnie at all if we lined up with a 4231 of...

---------Ryan

-Pedj -- Wilko -- Dutchy -- Rose

----Griffiths --- Hutch

---Weemac -- Perez -- Olly

---------McBreen

Bench: Bernie. Amini. Lewis

It's probably our safest formation. But it's likely to be a bit painful to watch compared to what we're getting used to, and if we don't attack consistently, it may well not be enough to get a point and it would be horrible to watch us go down just defending against a team I believe we are significantly better than.

Very interested form a coaching perspective to see what Arnie does.

This is going to be a very interesting match. Once again Arnie is showing no fear in giving the youngsters a go:

Exciting stuff.

This will be the 4th game in a row we have had Strebre. We had him against Sydney, Adelaide and Heart. Top Ref gets the top games i guess. Before that we had Jared Gillet against Perth and Chris Beath in the F3 Derby.
lol So I wasn't having a memory lapse, thanks.

Awesome to see Bernie getting a start.

Arnie is definitley puting his faith in the system and the players knowledge of it. Put me at ease hearing that he had trained with the team all year.

It'll e impossible for Bernie to play worse than McBree against the Jets, if his NYL stats are any indicator, his a talented young goal poacher!

Bring on Moron and his puppets!

At the top of this page it says the game is at 8:00, but my Foxtel is telling me it's at 9:00???

The times on this site are taken directly from the A-League site, so they are local to where they are being played. Something I have on my list to look at for next season. The countdown *should* always be right though!

Ahh I see. That was the same problem with the little Mariners members calendars from last season. They had local time on there so it was very confusing. Luckily they resolved the issue this season and now all times on the little calendars are AEST.
