ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I've met the Russians, top blokes.I hope the deal works :goodpost:

The Russians fell in love with the local community,he said the community is awesome.

LOL Whats so hard to believe,as if i would just make up the story.I love how people believe when someone says they have a so called inside gossip from a media source.
Mark my words if the Russians take over, Bluetongue Stadium would have sell out crowds

I spoke with one of the investors today,he was saying that all Mariners players are Marquee from the juniors to the A League squad.A Marquee player is only as good as the players around him.The investors love seeing fans in the mariners brand from jerseys to home made banners, the fans are the club.Im meeting up with them on the weekend i will
keep you guys informed. TOP SECRET information for fans only :pirashoot:

... Phantom is the russians?.. :tophat:

If the Russians are coming its GA or maybe Singo will match SFC wages as he did with LM...I think GA wants to stay with us but wants to be sure we will be a competitive club...

Marianne Faithfull sang a song as Tears go by written by the Stones ... anyhow she was so hot and child memories of her still get me going Marianne Faithfull

Anyway as we wait and we fear things that may happen to our club I will sing along with Marianne [1965 I think] but still a good tune ...

Russians or not Arnie is gone it seems. Everything is very similar to when Aloisi left. Whoever the new coach is I don't think we'll be surprised at the name.

Geez, if these Russians ever show up with some money, I have to say... It'd be kind of nice to have the money to poach someone from Sydney, turn the tables on them for once... Ofcourse the problem is that they'd have to have someone worth poaching, but that's for future-Mariners to sort out ;)

442 has Sully putting his hand up to coach the Mariners if Arnie leaves and promises to bring 'sexy football'. I know the girls from the Jets W-league team loved him and he also worked under Ricky Herbert at Phoenix. Not sure if he is ready to step up to manager yet.

There are very few names across the entire league that would be poach worthy to place in front of our starting 11. I can think of a few at striker and a couple at DM but in all honesty I like the thrill of seeing young untried guys get a go & not knowing what they can deliver. I am really looking forward to Caceras getting his chance.

I think its a sad way of developing a football team. I'd rather be the team that gave Wayne Rooney or Ross Barkley or Jack Rodwell their top flight chance

Tbh I quite agree... I think it's one of the things that's been exciting about following the Mariners over the last couple of seasons in particular, has been the emergence of players that, to the rest of the league, have been relative surprises. It's not often you get to experience moments such as when Rogic announced himself against Victory, taking commentators and spectators by complete surprise :)
My comment was pretty strongly intended at Sydney and the feeling that they sit there and wait for us to do exactly this, so they can poach the players/staff when they finally attain some sort of success... And there's nothing we can do about it because we can't even approach the type of money Sydney's willing to throw at 'em... Not that that's necessarily a bad thing either (in this particular type of situation, not saying no money is good) as they do seem to, at times, ignore the real value and just throw money at 'em, hoping for the best.

That comment was about revenge, not really about a way to build a team ;)

It's my gut feeling too that Arnie will be going. If he was staying then there is no reason not to announce it and by delaying his decision he is risking Sydney pulling out. The fact we are hearing nothing from Sydney might mean he has agreed in principal. Like most others i think he could be swayed to stay if we get some cash and can give him a pay rise and buy a couple of decent players. Time is running out though. If he goes i have full confidence in Mossy and TW ( and whoever else comes in)and the youth we have to stay competitive. Not sure if and thought is been given to Dutchy getting some sort of coaching gig, he would do well. If the Russkies come on board i'm sure we will have an exciting season, but regardless we are in pretty good shape. Would make the games against Sydney even more satisfying to win!

I think, from the article on theworldgame the other day, it looked like he wasn't given much choice in the extension of the period. The board said they didn't want to negotiate any further until after the next game and so have delayed their final counter-offer and blocked Sydney from futher discussions. There isn't really a whole lot that SFC can do about it as they ARE trying to poach a coach under contract and there's not a whole lot that Arnie can do either as he IS under contract. So yes, he did say that he wanted to post-pone it, but it doesn't look to me like he was given a choice, irrespective of otherwise friendly musings from PT.

Once that's said, I'm starting to think you're right too, although I'm wondering (like someone else mentioned on here) if the board is simply stalling and hoping that the Russians or someone else will come through with some money in the next couple of weeks, allowing us to give a better counter-offer along with increased security etc.

The question still remains, who will follow? Wasn't there talk of Moss and Clarky being part of the deal. What about players? Do you think some of our youth players will go too?

Youth would have a better change of getting promoted to senior side with us. Sydney too focus on big names.

With respect to Sully we need someone with experience if Arnie does leave.

I'm not in the know at all but i think Arnie will stay if he can get a decent wedge out of us.

He's not making noises like Ange was.
