ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

LOL Whats so hard to believe,as if i would just make up the story.I love how people believe when someone says they have a so called inside gossip from a media source.
Mark my words if the Russians take over, Bluetongue Stadium would have sell out crowds

I want to believe you but because I'm not in the loop I find it hard to believe someone when they put up a fact that is too good to believe. For example, the combustion of vodka (or ethanol at least) at room temperature is spontaneous. IT REALLY IS!!!

Guys settle down. All Phantom has said so far was he met the Russians, they are nice, they like the community on the coast, and (just like the rest of us) he hopes the deal goes through.

No need for troll labels and whatever.

No need for overreaction and getting hysterical over nothing.

Just chill.

He/she also said "mark my words if the Russians take over, Bluetongue would have sellout crowds". Rather a big statement don't you think?

Maybe a bit optimistic but what's the problem?

It's not like he has said anything to suggest he has any "inside information" other than having met "The Russians" once.

What's with the lynch mob?

No doubt a marquee will put bums on seats.
Victory gave us our two biggest crowds (excluding nye ) simply because people wanted to see Kewell playing.
Same as we got 15k when romario played for Adelaide.

Central Coast are bandwagoners....

No real marquees floating around tho, besides if it takes the Russians this long to committ I doubt they will go emptying their pockets to get us a maquee...

Thanks ADZ atleast you understand what i was saying. From my time with the Russians i got an impression that they want to create a family atmosphere and look after the central coast community.

When you talk marquee's there is only 1 person who would sell out our stadium. And it would sell out, not every game but we would go from middle of the pack to second in terms of average crowds

Totally love speculation.

There's no problem. People are just asking questions as you would expect. Why do you consider that to be a lynch mob? Do you have an emotional connection to the Phantom?

I got the impression GA was staying with the Mariners but was hedging just in case Sydney FC came up with an offer too good to refuse.

When i think about it, that may be a particular risk if the Russian deal falls through; nobody wants to worry about their next pay cheque or the team menber's cheques. And no point being part of an ACL qualified team if theres a high risk it may fold.

Im still thinking it will all come together though :)

Good interview. Love Arnie. dearly hope Phantom is right.

As to Adz defending. So he should as a moderator. Good job Adz as far as i'm concerned. This place needs "more" people to frequent and a bit of positivity doesn't go astray either. Found the knee jerk criticism to Phantoms posts a bit bizarre. Calling him a troll and comparing him to Mario is just downright ludicrous.

On the Marquee point and selling out. Beyond world superstars who it is pointless discussing, surely the only person who could come close to doing that is Timmy? I don't think Timmy will come back here anytime soon if possibly ever at all myself. And I just can't think of anyone else who would fit the bill? So enlighten me please? I don't think we'd sell out with Schwarz and Neill combined, and what other footballers has the average Australian on the Central Coast ever heard of bar Rooney, Messi and Ronaldo?

And even then it still wouldn't surprise me too much if I found myself going, "wow, I really though we might sell out once Rooney's became a Mariner"

maybe on NYE

;)

I'm not disagreeing but history shows our largest crowds were when we had Aloisi (ok not a true Marquee as he was an injury replacement but I think we can all agree the money he was paid was akin to being a Marquee), our largest crowds when those travelling where with Harry etc..... I agree Timmy won't be the name (after all he is assosciated with Western Sydney bid).....
