id say MOM is pedj, he had a hand in basicly everything
Danny second, he is the best keeper in the A-league without any question

others of note:
Hutch dominated in defense and attacked well
Mrdja's left foot was awesome, the rest of him was ok (great strikes, average everything else)
Kwasnik worked super hard, but was offside way to many times.
Booggaarrdd wasnt up to the standard he has been for the last few weeks, hope thats not a sign of things to come

as i didnt see the match, did the scoreline match the performance?

it looked alot like most of our games this year, but the difference was the shots were all going in! it was weird but awesome

fury defense were poor, but they attacked really well and were unlucky a few times and danny saved quite a few

WOW! 5-1! I hope this form comes to Blue Tongue.

And look at this for De Ja Vu, My quote about our win over Tards:

The reason why we got 3 goals in last 15 minutes was clearly because we had Mrdja and Elrich!

As Nik's left foot belongs to him, I think he still deserves whole body credit ;)

I think its vital Kwassie is running off the shoulder and stretching the line.  It helps create space for the middies and gives us a chance to play through balls moving forward at speed instead of just aerial knock ons out of the air or back to goal build up play. If you do that, your going to get caught offside.

Thought Boogard was everywhere in the first 45 and close to our best on park. But second half  definitely seemed to disappear and we were a bit loose at the back. Probably tired after being clattered into multiple times and hacked to crap by Mc Breen. How he and others escaped cards is beyond me.

Because we won I think this has gone a bit unnoticed.
But that Ref was abysmal.

What do you reckon the chances are of CCEX and local radio beating the drum?

Can't talk for the other stations but after 5 weekends on the road Coast-FM will certainly be getting behind the home game and beating the drum  ;)

First time I've been able to find Coast on my tiny little trannie and I loved the call. Top stuff guys, well called. I've now put araldite on the trannie's tuning wheel!
I was watching the game on Iraqgoals and I turned the sound off, the commentary on the radio was heaps better.

Was Travis not able to cope with the heat last night or was the sub tactical?

Was kicked out of the game by McBreen just before half time; part of Fury's tactics - Middleby attempted to amputate Mrdja's leg and Fowler hacked Crowell.

Arsenal a few years ago undertook a study into player injury patterns and body types and playing style...

The upshot of it all was players that use a lot of energy in a game often get injures in the final 10 minutes of the first half and the last 20 minutes of a game...

Travis has had a lot of injury problems during his career and I wonder if LM is subbing him in most games in the last 20 mins to stop him from getting injured... Travis also uses a lot of energy during his time on the park

The thing i still can't get over is that we were outsiders in betting for this match.
The easiest collect of my life :)

Fury were unlucky to hit the bar a couple of times but there defence was stretched more than Henry's arm at times. Mrdja's second goal a perfect example.

Lets keep this form going into our home games and a title push is on.

A mad game, as Wilko said afterwards "we were poor first half...but our finishing was clinical", "Didn't feel like a 5-1 result"

Turning point was Vuko's first brilliant save:a minute later Heffernan sent an AFL 50 metre punt which Pedj 'marked' superbly and kicked the goal with sublime precision.
I thought Fury started brightly with a couple of crosses from the right that had Vuko screaming at Heff. Then came the save and the Pedj goal. The strangest thing was Mrdja's two goals:if one oppo coach knows Mrdja's game it must be Ferguson yet he was allowed a clear shot from the free kick and then allowed all the time in the world (and these days he needs all the time in the world) to line up the shot for his second. Meanwhile, Fury were still placing us under enormous pressure - what a shot by Daal! Reckon we should be trying to sign him instead of Ifill or McBreen  :innocent:. Elrich goal the result of skilful football and schoolboy defending, great chip by Kwas for Bojic to head to Elrich. Fury's goal was well deserved, Vukovic couldn't do much about it. Hutchinson's goal was masterful and should be shown on training videos - the first touch with the left foot, the positioning of his body to prevent a tackle andthe crisp, perectly placed right foot cross shot. Hutch, the maltese master. :innocent:
Vukovic dominated the game (three great saves), Bojic, everywhere and full of energy, Kwasnik - hit the post (Mrdja was inches away from the rebound), a great cross from the right for Travis to head wide, the way he turned the defender and his chip to Bojic - he was a real handful for the Fury all night. Hutchinson - great goal, mischievous wave to the Fury crowd; Porter - not once exposed by the pace of Williams who was constantly forced inside and Mrdja, not quite the wicked Mrdja of a couple of years ago but two goals could well open the floodgates. We've got depth and we're coming home. Can't wait! :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead:

Thank god, we finally won two games in a row. I can not see us not winning the league or premiership, we have the best goalie, defense, one of the best midfield's and now that we are scoring 4 goals a game, the possible best strikers in the league and the most depth in the league.

That game capped a remarkable run of away form - 5 games, three wins and one draw - now we have five games at home in the next seven and it is very important we catch the wave and surf to the top of the comp. Must do everything possible to get people to the game (are you listening Mariners' marketing department?!)

Something else I noticed, how many A-league clubs would be able to lose their top striker and arguably best defender (Wilko's probably better) and win 5-1.
