I notice the write up in the SMH neglects to mention Doig. Sure he had a fair bit of time out due to injury but our deffence has lifted with his arrival.

Well what a great win 5.1 up in FNQ.  Everyone should fear us now after 9 goals in 2 games.

Danny was MOM and the difference between us maybe grafting out a 2.1 come from behind win and giving Fergy's boys a pasting.

Back four played well again but were a bit slow to close down on a couple of occasions and that could easily have cost us 3 goals.  Actually felt Porter was our best defender.

Middies were excellent although I thought weeMac was a bit MIA.  Loved Hutcho's goal.... amazing what happens when you want the ball and make things happen instead of sitting back and waiting for someone else to do it.  Very Classy.
Top finish by Bojic.
I liked the look of Elrich when he came on and classy finish.

Boys up front did well and two good strikes by Disco.

3pts  Danny
2pts  Disco
1pt  Porter

Having watched the game again I have to say our defence was pretty careless in the first half and we missed the authority of Doig; both Wilko and Boogs stood watching as Malik ran through to test Vukovic; when Fowler hit the bar he was completely unmarked with Wilko watching the ball instead of the man. We'll have to have better discipline against the Violet Crumbles

I hate the bullshit about our gameplan being all about getting stuck in - there was only one side on Saturday night looking to kick lumps out of the other and they were the ones in radioactive green. And we're right in the middle of the fouls conceded table, which is roughly where you want to be - not thuggish, not powder puffs. We *do* have some hard men, but the game the other night was far more than just getting stuck in.

In many ways this has been created by Fozzie on his continuial style and Pommie / Tartan coaches rants... Even in the 30 seconds TWG gave our match all Fozzie could say was how crap Fury where not a good word about us...

I have often asked questions of the SBS team .. they have mellowed a little this year but Fook they cannot just bring themselves to say we are well coached, play fair, and play better football than most... I think it affects our crowds the constant media coverages of a all physical no skill team.

. to a degree i think this has helped us on the pitch (crowds maybe not so much)

. the last two games it seems are prime examples ... the opposition have come out with the agressive 'thug' mentality as they try to match our perceived rough tactics

. as this doesn't unsettle us as it may other teams we can actually get on with playing football while they focus on other things ... and the result ... 9-1

It does mention Doig "A Scotsman, an Englishman and a Welshman have arrived" - the reference to McGlinchey etc was because they pass the ball "as well as any Brazilian" - which I wouldn't dream of saying about Doig
