Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Front of the Bay

Sounded good, seriously only about 2 minutes in the first half was nothing heard from the bay. Second half was still good. Kwas being ruled onside would of been the lift for it to be similar to the first half I think. Kinda made a mockery of the argument for a roof to be louder though.

To answer an earlier question: who do we sing for, sha laa la la laa la, who are you and your love for Danny were all clearly heard from the other side.

unfortunately CHFILWY was not, neither was shirts off in the rain, but it was obvious that had been sung ;)

Has anyone commented on the complete and utter f**k up by the matchday staff yet?

We negotiated with the club that Bay 23 was members only/reserved and they decided to allow people to sit there without bothering to check any tickets.

Indeed, the imbecile on duty when we got there to find our seats taken claimed not to know that it was reserved!!!

Sure enough, despite our suggestions, they did nothing, people came in 10 minutes before kick off and away it went with hard feelings all around.

This is not the fault of the poor families who chose to sit there and got moved, they did nothing wrong. No one told them they couldnt sit there. However, they were majorly pissed off when having tickets checked/told to move etc and eventually the Police had to calm a couple down.

Top work from Aub to get security to actually do the job they are paid for but he should never have had to.

This isnt a fail by CCM unless they didnt bother to tell the security/stewards that it is reserved seating.

Members still getting the best ride huh?

With low crowds and BT staff not giving a flying, you wonder why people bother.
Was no one at the top of the bay (or anywhere) at the start of the W-league game so people were going where ever undercover, started a long time before anyone really had a chance to stop it. The matchday staff all get given a map which shows where and where isn't certain classes of tickets, smaller version of the one at the gates which show 23 as reserved. There is still a lot of supporters who don't know the marinators active support has moved shit fight was predicted at half time of the womens game, good to see it eventuated!

Well done to the front of the bay.... but if the whole Front vs Back thing starts up, it will destroy any hope of the 2 working together, which is what needs to happen. If either one starts up a chant (with a few exceptions of course) than the other should try to pick it up.
I didn't hear CHFILWY at all throughout the game....

As I said before, I dont sit with you guys, so I will not try and tell you what you should or shouldnt do, but IMO if the front moved back it would look strange without a crowd up on their feet against the barrier. Meh.

Again ,great work on the weekend . :)

To be fair, those guys around trumpetboy who insist on starting their own chants (or worse, the dreaded "lets go") are starting to get really annoying

Thats why i moved down to the front in the 2nd half. The chants are just crap and old. We need to move on.

The reason i think the front worked well is because of Craig leading everyone in the chants, when we have been up the back just everyone would randomly start chants and half the people were not getting involved.

Having someone in front to lead worked well, even if we move to the middle or stay at the back, having someone at the front of the group leading i think is the best way to go. Weather it be Craig, Brennan or anyone at all, i think having one or more than one person willing to lead the bay would make it easier for everyone to follow and for new people to get involved

The front v back chants were awesome. When the question and answer finished and all sung as one the noise above was unbelievable. Quite a few people were amazed that a guy would pay to go to the game and then stand with his back to the action for 90% and lead the supporters in chants. Nearlly all supporters from 40 - 48 would know Craigs face as the guy who leads the Marinators.

As for that mega song the high pitched notes are annoying, i dont know how anyone next to it can stand it.

re; paying to lead chants and not watch game...

Craig (and a few others, including myself) have put our hands up numerous times to take on this job.

btw the whole 'back/front feud' if people *cough* trumpet farkface *cough* didnt sing shit at us like "emos in the rain" and various other chants it probably wouldnt exist.

If you put your hand up...then....just go ahead and do it?

unlike yesterday, when there was a clear distinction of who wanted to active support and who wanted to stand at the back and sing the odd song, no-one used to listen

It'd be a lot easier to congratulate the FOB if they weren't all getting in on massive self-congratulatory circle jerking.

Well done on making good on what must be at least a year and a half of big talk with an afternoon's solid work. Keep it going!

If the back of the bay isnt secured, all that will happen is you will get a load of non members sitting their whining about people standing in front.

Be very careful what you wish for

Pull your head in and back off bagging out the back, your creating more trouble than solving.... Keep going and all you will do is alienate the back of the bay and those who do want to join in and create a better atmoshpere in the whole bay.

Wasn't in the bay yesterday (should have come over.. mate bought me a gold ticket however, so sat there with my prawn sandwich), however it sounded fantastic, and the front jumping etc looked great. When the call & response thing got going, it was great. Perhaps, rather than whinging/arguing & creating problems, start working together on how you can solve them (although the solution really does sound quite simple, rather than bitching about everything that's wrong, work through it...).

Don't want the 'active support' to fall apart, when it looked like (from where I was sitting) that it was starting to gather some momentum.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM with the back of the bay. If they choose to stand and sing the odd song then thats their choice. However, the people who wanted to active support (jump, chant etc) were all down the front yesterday.. surley you agree with that?? Oh, and by the way, we included you in the 'call/response' chant.. zomga we must be bagging you lot out etc (only people I have a problem with are the trumpet-bloke and his mates who sing V1 songs.) which I have said previously.

Fair enough, although your definition of active support is kinda narrow... What about those who for some reason (such as a snapped ACL) cannot jump around, but still want to sing and support their team, the back of the bay is perfect for this.
All I'm saying is instead of bagging areas out suggest a different way of doing things.
And if you check my first post in this thread the first thing I said was congrats to you guys you did a great job...
I actually came and stood with you for a period of time during the game, and had a ball. Unfortunately due to an injury incurred during the season, I couldn't jump around etc....

I think this is healthy. Points of view now clear from both sides - and it would seem a bit of understanding is being reached. Best team support for a long is an enormously good thing.

I can't help but feel over the last year or so - on the back of some crap performances/results, that we "Mariners supporters have started to create a bit of rift with the team" with our support dropping and lots of negativity around Lawrie and key players like Hutch etc...
I'm no debating deserved or not, just productivity - Has to be bad for morale I think.

Anyhow... point is... I think such enthusiastic passion being shown towards the team can only help. Well done - whole bay - on yesterday.
