Apparently Cummings needs a exemption from the powers that be, due to a rule that players signed after the semi finals can't play.
This is despite Victory players signed before their Semi final (and after the Mariners semi final), being eligible, as they hadn't played their semi final.

“The fact that the semi-finals were not played at the same time highlights the challenges the competition has faced. We had signed Jason well before our semi-final and it was only that we had to await his ITC within the (transfer) window which has caused this anomaly.

So we actually had signed him.

Historically, facts don’t come into consideration when a governing body makes a decision in regards to our football club. I don’t expect them to have common sense yet again.

Ah yes another technicality that fits the narrative of the Melbourne Victory redemption story.
The glorious Popa overhaul which saw the cellar dwellars restored to previous glory and a COVID ridden fan base which really needed something to cheer about welcome back their new found freedom with an FFA cup victory!

Yep, Cummings won't play. ?

I assume the rule relates to when he is registered - which would be dependent on the ITC - rather than when he actually signs the contract?

It sounds as though we may have slipped up though and not checked the eligibility criteria. The best time to appeal this would have been before either of the semis had been played. Even though it is a major anomaly that one club gets extra time to sign players in the middle of a transfer window, I can't see them making a retrospective change now

I am ok if he doesn’t play because we are still trying to work out our front line to fit everyone in.

Moreshe and Urena partnership can win us the cup. The cup is where this partnership had blossomed so why not win us the cup

If the FA were to screw us on this their colours would be on show for all to see, I can’t see them being this obvious about it.
