Annoying result, they targeted cumdog with heavy marking and tackles when he had his back to goal and he still looked so dangerous. If he gets a clean strike away it’s goal bound and needs a top level save ie; kurto’s first half save. They definitely targeted Maxy who did struggle abit. Muller had brilliant impact, exactly what you need from subs. Storm on the other hand was well behind it and slow/sloppy with his touches but did make up for it winning the pen. I still don’t rate him at all. If he becomes the regular RB at any point we’re in huge trouble.
Marco was better on the whole, took a little bit to get proper involved but then got going nicely.

Noone’s goal was an unbelievable piece of technique BUT had the nearest player (Beni, who mostly struggled again) applied any kind of pressure I don’t think he pulls it off so well. Oar’s goal while looked great was a complete fluke and that motherf**ker will never come close to that again. It’s taking worldie strikes to reel us in atm which is probably more annoying than getting towelled up.

Such an exciting game, I think I'll have to watch that one again. We're really getting value for money watching the team at the moment, we haven't had such quality players in a long long time. Feels like we have the capability to win against anyone and it's only going to improve as the boys recover from covid and Cummings gets fitter and acclimatizes.

Miller Kye Dan Faz

----Urena--Cumdog

Give the old Graham Arnold formation a spin? Our two wingers play pretty narrow as it is so it's not a huge difference and I believe Oli is at his best when the game is ahead of him. It's the front three that could light up IMO (I understand that Muller may not be fully fit yet but I'd still give this a run).

Marco was fantastic.

Not so. Roux was absent for their 3rd. Left Noone unmarked.
I was at the game and when the lofted pass came across to Noone Beni and Hall were the closest defenders to him.Roux was still in the penalty area waiting to defend the cross which was the expected move-their were plenty of Bull players still there and bodies were needed so Roux did the right thing.

Blaming him for conceding the corner and thus the goal is stretching it.

A few things that struck me:
Kye has become a real class act, deserves his national team call up.
Dan appears to have made a good recovery from Covid, and showed back to his top fitness.
Miller I thought was having a great game but appeared to pull up lame. His problem with cramps needs to be addressed. I loved it when two his team mates pulled him to his feet in order to maintain momentum and maybe stop him complaining to the ref. I may be reading too much into that one scene but it may explain a lot.
Farrell had a couple of costly errors. It shows he is human and not superman. It happens. Still one of the best in a tough position and a massive prospect.
Storm is getting on and it shows sometimes. Fullback is a tough position at the best of times and really requires super fitness. He is doing a good job off the bench. His one-two combination that brought the pen was all class and it was a shame he was brought down. I reckon he would have scored a screamer if he had not been fouled.
Goddard was having one of his best games for us I thought and showing signs of getting up to pace with the rest of the team. Possibly taking a bit longer to recover from the illness.
Nizzy is worrying me. He seems to have been really knocked back by his infection. I truly hope that he has not come back too soon and is doing himself long term damage. If any have been following the medical science of the virus they will know that this is a serious risk. I hope the medical staff are across it.
I love the excitement Benni brings. He is likely to do the unexpected and must scare oppositions. He can sometimes control a tough log passed volley wit a single touch and the duff a simple one. I hope he is not injured.
Muller showed what he is capable of last night. Hopefully he is finding his feet and fitness after not much match time. We will need him in the next few weeks. Could turn out to be one of the more canny signings.
Ballard I thought was a better prospect than Steele for this game but unfortunately for such a vital position we need more experience. Both are future prospects and hopefully will make it, but are being found out at present.
Ollie's best game of the season. Clear MOM.
Urena had a great game even if some of his passes do not come off. It reminds me of a time years ago when Wayne Bennett gave Wally Lewis a serve for his mistake rate. Lewis' reply was that any player who was going to try things taking the game to the opposition was always going to make errors, it was the price you paid.
Cummings is the real deal. He will definitely make Arnie's squad before too long. I love the way he has hit the ground running.
You have to love Moresche, gives 100% all the time with heaps of passion. He must have been disappointed when the Club signed Cummings. I think now he is determined to show he is worth his spot. Backed himself to ask to take the pen and loved it when Ollie gave it to him. It showed that he and the Club valued him, which is essential for his development. When he improves his tight passing in positions where instinct and excitement are taking over, real results will follow.

Overall, coulda, woulda, shoulda. That's football. Still looking good.

Game of two halves, first half our midfield problems continued with them running through the middle of us like driving on a freeway at 2am. This has been a constant issue for many games now and teams have clearly worked it out and target our young lads who are easy for a turn over. To Monty's credit he made changes at half time and when we get some of the midfield control back we look so much better. With Muller getting fit it's time for Max and Harry to be benched and continue to learn their trade with less game time, both are good prospects but it's killing us at the moment.

Perhaps we had to blow out the cobwebs from the final and it took 30mins, not surprised as the boys put in massively in that game and had to travel as well. Once we got going and Monty fixed the midfield we looked very good.

Others have summed up the game very well. I think giving Moresche the second Pen was a great example of this team and how they play for each other. The embrace Moresche gave Monty after the Pen shows a Manager who has the respect of the players. I sit right behind our bench and I always watch how players interact with the Manager when subbed. Miller was a bit stand offish and I will give Miller this, if he has signed with the Cows it's not showing and last night he did a fantastic job in keeping DDS quiet. Worst game for DDS all season and they missed him.

In years gone by and at 2 nil down I'm normally contemplating at what point I'll leave early to start the travel back to Sydney. Not now, I still thought at that point we can get back into this game. Well done boys I was proud and happy to take the point as they are all crucial.

Probably more on Beni and Dan. Roux was picking up inside.
Showed me no one is really running/organising that backline.
Agreed - more Beni than Dan. The CB is going to want to marshal the 6yd box while the ball's still bouncing around, and the midfielders should be looking after the perimeter.

I only managed to watch the 2nd half and highlights but i have to say, im very happy with how the squad is playing. Results havent gone our way but the reality is, in the last couple of games, there have been some absolute worldie/freak goals against us. Without them, it is a completely different run of results.

Oar and Noone last night were fantastic goals that regardless of who you follow, you just have to admire them. Ikonomidis goal in the FFA cup was just fantastic, great show of skill and ball control.

If Muller's crossbar had only gone in....we'll get one or two of those in our favour eventually. We've got players now who can score from range and put tap-ins away. Personally I think Ollies goals so far this season have shown real class.
