ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Like a real league then?
Sort of except you play all the derbies in rd 1 and 2 for hype when they don’t have form and you don’t play at least 1 opponent like say WU until the last 2 weeks because they can’t work a simple excel spreadsheet of home and away after you’ve played each team once or because SFC say so but it’s getting close

As a Victory 11. 5 % owner agree that A League needs to go to 16 teams. But FA should enforce that the transfer systems be introduce, that there be no more salary cap & that we follow the AFC Visa Spots requirements. This will allow the overseas & Local investor in the game spend more money in promoting our teams to play in the AFC Champions League. It took the AAFC to show the Australian Football lovers & FA that there is interest from Clubs & investors for teams to enter a NSD with the hope of a pyramid Football in Australia has it is all around the world. Then we have the APL that wants to sell new Licenses for $25,000,000.00 each.

A new NSD is to be formed & the FA is demanding teams to have Professional Player contracts with full time football players & administrators. I agree with this, but if this is implemented then the new teams need to be promoted up to the A League from the NSD. The APL still cannot sell the Newcastle Jets License. They should sell the Newcastle Jets license before they sell new license in the A League. We need to follow the rest of the football world with Promotion & Relegation from the A League down to all leagues by merit on the football Park. Our current A League has lost ground attendances; TV viewers & our football standard has dropped. It’s time that FA gives a clear direction if we are to be part of the AFC & if it really wants a pyramid football system throughout the whole game with a new NSD.

I think we're one of the main clubs that would be disadvantaged by no salary cap though

Bad timing on this by Mirabella.

I think we should push on the A-League expansion and the NSD.

His point on the Jets is pertinent they should sell them first and make this a priority.
Sadly we do need the Jets in the A League.

Ground attendances have been lost for various reasons not the least being shitty draws and scheduling for TV.
TV /Paramount + have no advertising and no weekly round-up show/preview show.
Football is a product.
Most fans don`t want every show to be Andy Harper serious show shown on channel 10 shitty bold with not allocated channel number unless you do a f**ken 2hour survey to find it.
I`d take a live Pete Prior type/podcast show any day of the week.Something informative, funny, light hearted. Just intelligent (sorry Pete) people talk shit about football. That`s all I want.
As for the standard dropping Mirabella should watch some games other than MV. The standard is rising all the time even though our best players keep moving overseas.

My thoughts on the A League:-
1. Expand AL to 20 teams
2. Bring in the National second division with 16 teams
3. Get the NSD established for 5 years then go promotion /relegation
4. 1st and second division each comprising of 18 teams with 4 teams dropping and 2 teams promoted
5. A properly administered salary cap brought in to stop over spending
6. Play Womens ALeague games as double headers wherever possible
