ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Jason, f*ck off with your logic mate, it has no place in this debate.

Forumer formerly known as Greenpole - but we played good for parts of the game..... I can hardly do a match review of that, can I??   ;)
i need to fulfil my logic needs somehow - lord knows watching 'the dark knight' isn't doing it :p

Thanks for the clarification Gus. I'll be first to put my hand up and claim to have NO expertise whatsoever. I was aware that "Impeding" (or obstructing as I called it) was not a penalty, but was not aware that any form of contact - malicious or intentional or not - negates the "impeding" ruling and makes it a foul. I have no doubt that Danny conceded a penalty; my thought was that if the contact was significantly less malicious it may have constituted "Impeding Progress"... but apparently not.

Cheers for that.

good on you floss :) there used to be a foul called obstruction, which used to permit contact, so your interpretation isn't too far off the mark, just a few years behind :) anyway, i think bojic made the bigger blunder at this incident!

So you move to Mexico, you come on here with your logic, AND you take a swipe at Batman whilst doing it??

Thin f*cking ice my southern friend, thin f*cking ice.

Greenpole - yeah yeah, I'll get 'round to it.  I'll watch the replay so I can be balanced (like that's any fun).  And what's this "interests of balance" shite, you just want something funny to read at work tomorrow.  :p

In Dannys defence - at least he saved the first attempt on the penalty ... he more then made up for his error at that point... sadly a certain someone wandering into the box gave Aloi$i a second chance....

Replay shows that 'someone' else on the other side of the 'D' was first into the box, only ever so slightly b4 Pedj.

Can't quite make out who it is? So entire blame can't be attributed to poor old Pedj, he was just the unfortunate, smack bang in front of Greens line of sight.

From what I've seen of the replay, Pedj made the most ground into the penalty box, and with quite a speed.

Maybe the ref viewed that as more deliberate than the other player who may have only encroached a bit? I know that isn't in the rules, but with all that was going on, Pedj's run may have caught the eye of the ref or maybe he was sledging a bit before that and came to the attention of the ref prior to the kick being taken? Usually I've seen the penalty retaken and a player cautioned, but not yellow carded.

TBF to Pedj though, he pwned Aloisi throughout the game, and partnered up well with Wilko.

Without reading any posts in this thread, and without seeing a replay, I thought it looked like Danny was jumping over his own defender, and the Sydney player didnt more when Danny jumped. Whats wrong with that? How is that a penalty?

Should probably watch a replay as it was a definite penalty

Really? Fair enough. If thats the case, why jump thru the air at an opposition player when the ball is nowhere to be seen? Silly boy
