Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sat 3pm is proper football time.

All professional games should ko off then and we should have a proper A,B,C half-time scoreboard (anyone under 40 know what they are ?)

Wed's at 7.30pm is ok occasionally.
If it did all go to one time slot (not that it is going to happen) how about 4 smaller score boards below the main one giving up to date scores on the other games

Well this sounds more promising...
and more in tune with what seemed to be his level of injury...
Fingers, legs and eye balls all thoroughly crossed...

I'm feelin' better already after reading that ....

I was at physio with Doig yesterday and it will be a miracle if he plays.

Thanx Marinermick, I think!

I'm assuming Doig is going to be out.

In that case, I'm sorry but I predict a 1-3 result and a crowd of maybe 11K.

The difference between the two games in our defense line was very noticeable.

With Doig, we had shape and were a brick wall. Without, we scrambled and were basically the same as late last season and the ACL.

I expect Lawrie to play with the same lineup as last week, and it just isn't enough to cover our ass I think.

Porter will get schooled by Brosque, Bimbi will play hell up the centre unless Hutch and Pedj can close him down, and Wilko will get pulled out of the centre and allow Aloisi too much room. Heff is going to be found out by Danning big time, that kid is on fire at the moment.

Then when Bridge comes on for Corica, I expect him to march straight at Danny and continue their childhood rivalry. Bridge has the wood on Danny big time, I reckon.

PLEASE, I do wish to be proven hopelessly wrong on all this, but the rumblings in my gut tell me it is going to be one of those matches - for all the wrong reasons.

Heff will TRY to do that, but I doubt his ability to actually make an impact. The kid has a lot of pace, endurance and is I'm guessing, technically superior to Heff. And if Heff goes wondering upfield then loses the ball, guess who is the first receiver of the ball from Sydney FC's defense line? With an exposed flank until Heff scrambles back?

No chance!
he will be on a high after FIFA ruling today as well so I think Heff will be tied in knots

happy to be proven wrong however!

Why ISN'T he getting more game time? I really want to see him in action (couldn't make it to the preseason games).
Is he injured or not good enough - if so why is he on the bench?
Is he not match fit - if so how the hell does he get match fit without time on the pitch?
Very strange.
Because LM refuses to realise hutch is shit!!!!!!!!!!! I'm f**king sick of seeing him on the team sheet. He offers nothing to the team except for an expert ability in falling over!!!!!!

Caceres will get his chance. Think the reasoning behind the D'Apuzzo promotion is -
1.Cover for Heff if he struggles with Danning. D'Apuzzo is quick himself and tackles hard.
2.We already have Travis and Elrich to come off the bench if needed.

or it could just be that Caceres is lazy and has been shit at training?

I would like to see Travis on the park before Dylan .... Elrich there a player 2006 next player going to WC ... then poor calls on clubs and injury ... I wonder if the desire burns deep within to get back to his best ... because his best is very good .... time will tell ... love to see him on the park for more than 5 or 6 mins...

Re Heff to be pwned by Danning...
Danning has been looking terrifi, but I'm tipping a pleasant defensive surprise by Heff who will have his measure better than Jamison. Heff is quick, and he is srtonger and taller than Jamison and I from last weeks performance I don't think he is defensively out of form. In fact I think Heff is finally returning to his old full form after a gradual recovery from all his time off with the break. Heff also did quite well against Danning in Leichardt.

Brosque and unbelievably Aloi$i are actually my greater concerns.

But my biggest concern is putting the ball in the net. I want Dylan to prove me wrong, but he is simply not scoring... Nik isn't scoring... Mercifully Matty is a good chance and wee man and Kwas look in good touch, but we need another midfielder to threaten consistently and another striker with his eye in for mine.

Someone step up to the plate please...

Mike does it again. Good article maybe he sticks to writing and commentary stays away from Fox Sports FC!
