ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

If it's to ask Council to hand over the asset, I'm not in.

If it's to ask Council to work with the Mariners to develop the ground and surrounds, I'd consider it.

Its an interesting one for all of us... I don't think anyone on the site wants valuable community assets transferred to private interests, especially if the price paid is close to a give away...

For the sake of putting some figures about... the Australian Accounting Standards definition of an asset is as follows.

The value of an asset its future cash flows
Valuations for investments take the future cash flows and apply discounted cash flow formula to allow for inflation essentially 1,000 dollars may only have the buying power of 500 dollars in say 20 years.

This creates a dilemma because the stadium is loosing money if media reports are correct and thus worthless, but we all know it has a replacement value of my guess 70 million plus.

Then their is current and future usage with the council ownership which is next to nothing...

I am more inclined for a join ownership structure where the Mariners have management rights for a % of gross revenue, meaning the council carries no risk as they get the agree % of revenue regardless of whether the event was profitable or not ... equally it provides the club the ability to run the stadium ... with title still held by council ..

I don't think for one second the council should or will give the stadium away.
Maybe a long term lease?

I wonder if the council actively go out looking for events to be held there or does someone just
sit at a desk waiting for an email to come in from a prospectus organiser.
There certainly hasn't been much going on for the last year.

If the Mariners were to take it over and try to make money out of it they'd have to be looking
at getting some rugby league games there. But then again I don't know what the crowds were
like for the last few. I remember at a fans forum a few years ago a league game had been held
there and someone from the Mariners scoffed at the crowd figure. Apparently it was hugely inflated.

I don't expect they would give it to CCM or that they would be pitching that. Long term lease agreement with management rights makes most sense at a guess.

As a public asset, I'd like to see council continue to develop and maintain it.

That hasn't been a priority for them, hence the disrepair and poor management - at least in terms of food and beverages. Which is not all together surprising. So it makes sense to allow the one serious client with a vested interest get some skin in the game and in return help carry the load.

No one has to get screwed here. But the number of reasons the coast has to support the Mariners and to try and make something work is considerable imo.

The current issue CCM faces from my understanding is Council's 'will' as they've haven't even been able to get to any serious nuts and bolts yet.

Council have had there chance and the stadium needs investment.

It is a cost intensive asset.

Needs CCM to have a go.

I don't want to see a few petty fixtures or minimal investment to say don't tell us what you to do with it.

Put a few protections in and let us roll.

The Central Coast Mariners will be hosting a Members Forum at Central Coast Leagues Club on Friday January 27. Mariners’ Owner, Mike Charlesworth, CEO Shaun Mielekamp and Head Coach Paul Okon will address the Members and be available for questioning on the night..

I believe the Club should hold a Members Forum every three weeks...seems to have worked wonders.
