ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This is good for me. I finish work around six and should be able to get there.
However I feel The Mariners should really be taking into account those commuting.

I'm a commuter and would have struggled to get there for the 6:30 start. However, I suspect a number of people will be doing what I'm doing and taking the day after Australia Day off.

I cant make it but would like two questions asked.

1. Mike are you happy you have taken us so low in such a short space of time and are you amazed at how loyal the support is considering the shit you have made us suffer through?
2. Paul, your back four are still totally clueless when it comes to the absolute basics of defending. Why not bring in someone like Patrick to help you set them right?

Cheers

And what answer do you think you're going to get for either of those questions? FFS.

I'll answer them

1) He doesnt give a shit or he would have done something about it.

2) A masterclass with the worlds greatest defenders cant make park footballers better - they simply arent good enough to play at this level. End of

There you go :)

I've played with park Footballers who are far far better defenders than these guys. But i take your point.

I've been very critical of the direction of the club, as you'd know if you appreciated anything that is more complicated than a rating out of ten.

Your questions are just stupid.

If you ask a contemptuous question you should expect a contemptuous response.

If you want a considered response, ask a considered question.

I appreciate you flop between fawning fan and occasional critic.
And i appreciate a rating out of ten would be way out of your unctuous comfort zone and would actually require some opinion rather than a subbuteo level clinic on team set up.

What would you have me ask Mike? Itss so great to have you here...how was the flight?
Planning on building any new hotels?....oh is there any money left for any two legged players over the age of 20yo?
Which of the two wooden spoons did you enjoy the most Mike?

Just ask in a more polite manner, asking that way would never get you anywhere and just piss people off.
So for 1.
Hi Mike, since you took ownership of the Mariners you have gradually reduced the investment on the field, for our long term success, it is my belief , that it is vital we are successful on the pitch and that requires investment in players, what are you plans to do so to appease our long suffering fans?
And for 2.
Our main problem seems to be our defence as we have conceded a large amount of goals this season and kept one clean sheet, what is the plan to rectify this? And would bringing in someone such as Patrick Zwaanswijk be possible and/or helpful.

Ask a question that might actually get an answer rather than one loaded with an ad-hominem attack.

e.g. At what point do you expect that we might start spending the full salary cap?

If you plan to develop the stadium, how will this affect potential ongoing investment in football operations?

The COE has been progressing but the football club has struggled in the last three years; how do you plan to re-balance the progress of the COE with the performance of the football club?

There are new bidders looking to come into the A-League; that tells us that there are people willing to invest in A-League clubs and they're not all in big cities - are you seeking further investment to help us put the football club back where it belongs at the top of the league?

In other words, ask serious questions and don't be a dick.

EDIT - and JP has good suggestions for your specific queries.

All good questions but all slightly lame.
I was probably venting somewhat BUT i would like someone to have the courage to question Mike about what he has done to our once proud club. Obviously I wouldn't expect an apologist to ask them.
