ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

CHAMPIONS!!!!!

Yeah... I thought the boys did quite a decent job of controlling the game. Watching the replay, I noticed that WeeMac seemed to always be contending with two defenders whenever he was on the ball... I'm thinking that's one of the primary reasons why he wasn't that prolific.
All things considered, it wasn't far off how I'd expected the game to go. The goal they scored at Bluetongue was more due to a lapse in defence than anything else - which proves that we had their number, in terms of shutting down their attack... So the main thing was always going to be whether we could actually hit the target :)

Re. the penalties - I think calling them dodgy is a bit harsh cap'n... The three that spring to mind, the one given and the two argues about... Pedj had his arm down his side, moving it out of the way - ref was right in front of it, looking at it... I don't see it as dodgy at all, I think it was an excellent call. In comparison, the one given, I thought was a little more uncertain, but looking at stuff like that Kewell card, we've seen before, that defenders are supposed to hold their hands close. It gets a little iffy because I'm not sure that he meant to handle the ball, so I'll happily go with "rub of the green".
The third one, tbh I sort of forgot to pay attention at the replay and haven't gotten around to looking for it on Fox' site yet - but it looked more in the class of what they usually call "Robust" I think ;)...

As a whole, I actually thought the ref did a very decent job, especially compared to last year's GF ;)

Either way, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!! (Can't say that enough)

I got home from work, grabbed a beer and sat down in the lounge to watch the GF again. The mariners were so superior in every aspect of the game. Our boys played with " lets get it over " attitude. I kept watching what I've had recorded after the game as I didn't have the time to sit and watch before and while watching the B-League I noticed that we were also crowned champions in the juggling competition. Our own Anthony Caceres was presented with a trophy during the celebrations on the field by Mel of FoxSports. Mariners too good in everything.

Couple of quick ones after watching the replay:
Sainsbury definitely mom.
We have been playing Sterj in the wrong position, he is a strker.
Good refereeing.

We are not only champions because we won the grand final. When you add the finals results to the table, we came top on goal difference, we topped the goal scoring and we conceded fewest goals over the whole season. That's a real champion team!
I know that's not the official definition of champions, but they sure are bloody good stats.

Still hasn't really sunk in that we did it.
Yep - it's just something else. It's like something that happens to other clubs, to other towns. But it's us, it's our title, it's our glory, it'a our moment. I hope the players and staff soak it up too - there are a lot of people who never get these moments, I hope they all drink it in because you don't know when it might come up again.

. this was pointed out to us by, of all people, a marquee fc fan - and it is good for a quick retort

. a few non-football people i know have been querying why i place so much importance on the plate ... they felt there should at least be a play-off between 1&2 at the end to determine the 'champions' - we got that too. it holds a little bit of credence when we have 1-home and 2-away match-ups throughout the season (one team should theoretical have an advantage over 27 rounds)
