Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hutch is the anchor! He holds the team together! He also has great leadership qualities. Mainly he deserves his place because we don't really have anyone else suited to his role.
You're right, Hutch is an anchor, to any attacking play. I'm sure we've got other players that can pass backwards and fall over when under pressure.

Zwaanswijk match preview quote in the Club's website today: "...(we’re) hoping to get good results and climb up the table".

Friggin' hard to climb higher than 1st Patrick!

Can anyone shed some light on if Perez will be lining up on Sunday??

Need to adjust my fantasy team if he's not ;)

Game one. New season. We win. But you just caaaaan't help yourself can you Grunta??

Imagine.... if as a supporter group we didn't constantly search for a whipping boy to slag for the season... or hey, WHAT IF at the very least, we waited till we were actually losing and our players were playing poorly??

Wild idea huh.

Hutch's experience CLEARLY showed last game, and what's more at crucial times. It's obviously the reason why he's still being selected, with Griffiths a quality replacement no doubt pushing hard for the position. Unless of course maybe Lawrie is still somehow pulling the strings eh?

Did you see our dismal pass completed rate Grunta?? The second worst of all teams for the round?
But what, you want to punt the only player who consistently makes passes in our team and put Pedj in his position ??

F**king hell.

Yesss yessss... I know Grunta... "He passes the ball back and sideways!!!"

A DM who passes the ball back and sideways?
Bloody shocking isn't it.

Such a rugby league like mentality. The ball does not always have to be moved forwards. And players have different roles to fulfill.

Your long standing Hutcho hate has left you blind to what actually occurs on the park now Grunta. What did he do? Shag your missus? Run over your dog? Boil your pet rabbit??

All of the above??

Honestly mate, I know he;'s one of our more consistent players, but I'm sure he'll genuinely f**k up a few times over a 30 game season, can't you at least wait till then?

Truth be told I hate negative crap about our players, coach or club at the worst of times. And I'm pissed, because _this_ is definitely not the worst of times.

Sorry! Have not had a chance to bring the emoticons across yet - I'll look at raising the limits too, since 10 in one post is clearly not enough ;)

A man must take his pleasures where he can find them :D
Nothing better than a shitload of the FIREUPS for a pre game thread,
or twelve thousand odd VOMITS when sackwhacker comes home or such like!

Also really love you to change the key for the three ? emoitcon. It stops me form using multiple question marks in my posts which is very annoying when making some points.

Just thought... while you were there and all....

;)

Many Thanks

Porter is the only player on the right who can consistantly put in a decent cross. With Big strikers that would have to be included in our game plan.

Pedj is a better defender, but i would like to see porter on the right wing, he does the yards to get back and defend, but can have the extra strength and height of pedj at the back

Have a solid feeling that the mariners are going to dominate this game and our new fluent style of football will shine through, the boys will be fired up for an ENTERTAINING home win, looking to shake off this legacy of ugly bus parking and isolating it to away games if at all!

Keep an eye on Bozanic for this one, he will know that last weekend wasnt his flashiest game but with Rose covering the left side more defensively you will see this kid dominate, trust me!

Expect team to be the same with Perez slotting in for Kwasnik and McBreen to come off as a sub for Kwas in the early second half, will be substituting the physical presence of Simon in the midfield we had with some silky skills with pace, bring it!

Totally agree. Porter and Kwas as impact players. Hopefully Griffiths and Doig can make some impact into the 1st team to keep the others on their toes.
Isn't it nice to have more than one genuine choice for most positions for a change.
