If the SMH are correct, it is Matt Crowell.Welsh midfielder, represented Wales at under 21 level.Think he trialled with us pre-season. Could be a good signing. I imagine if Wolfe impresses in his time as injury replacement for Hukey, he will get a chance to sign as well ?

According to his wiki page, he is already playing for us.

BINGO :)

Impressed the coaching staff when he trialled in the off season, from what I've been told he's a good communicator and a ball winner.........let's see how he goes

Could be just the sort of player we need in the middle of the park. Makes for some selection headaches now for Lawrie. Team could be -

                                        Danny
Boogs        Wilko            Doig ( if fit)        Heff
                                        Pedj
          Travis      Crowell                Wee Mac    Wolfman
                                        Matty

How has Travis been for speed at training - I thought he looked a little bit slow on Saturday at times especially when the break was on. Just suggesting he may have to stay more central.

That's not a bad side...

I have not seen anything to suggest to me that travis is a wide midfielder, except constant posts of people dream formations

Depends on their fitness probably. Not sure if LM will want to make such a radical change to the midfield, but if they are good enough we need to give them game time. Maybe start Travis this week, with one of the other two? More likely to be Crowell as LM has had a good look at him.Wolfy is just off the plane so would need a few more weeks. Obviously, if this happens, this will mean dropping either Hutch or Pedj , who have done all they have been asked to do so far.Tough decision...but good position to be in.

No he ain't aussie and he ain't irish, and in fact I don't think his nationality is currently represented in the a-league but I could be wrong.

In spite of opinions to the contrary, we Tasmanians are Aussie too, even before our head operations  ;D

I still don't get why New South Wales people are the only one's who make the "two head" reference/gag constantly?

Not just NSW people, I've had it aplenty from the Mexicans too. I may LIVE in NSW (for now) but I AM a Tasmanian.

I don't understand how it can be a tough decision.  Surely we are all expecting these new signingings to be an improvement to the team, which has been playing poorly, so obviously two or three players are on the way out. Pedj, Hutch, Kwas, Porter?

Has to happen.

I am NOT a Hutch fan...but have to admit that he has played pretty good in the first few games this season.  And Pedj to my mind has been one of the best for the Mariners on the paddock......but Kwas ?  he should be the second to go (behind Mrdja).  Porter has had to fill in at RB and should be able to play his preferred position before he's cut.

Can't wait to see the new boys play.

I would like to see Travis start too.
Has Doig recovered yet?

Doig still 50/50 for this weekend

Wolfe will push Kwas without a doubt, unless Lawrie is planning to get back to a 4-4-2, may opt for Kwas and Simon up front? IMO Macca and Simon together doesn't work and Mrdja is just Mrdja!  Crowell will hopefully push Hutcho and Pedj, competition for spots is a good thing, throw Huke into that position too and it's healthy for the team.

I think it's time to get back to 4-4-2 personally

+1 By his own admission, Travis is a box to box mid. He has a mean delivery from the set piece but will not be used to cross the ball in from the side.

I agree. We have far too much midfield talent to not go back to 4-4-2. When we push for a game which has got away, it should be 3-5-2 with Heff pushing into a wide left spot.

My favoured team now would be

            Vuko
  Pedj Doig Wilko Heff
Porter Hutch WeeMac Wolfman
        Simon Kwas

Bench Travis, Crowell, BigMac, Redmayne

So, let me get this right - we have signed a ball winning midfielder to replace a left sided attacker and we have signed a left sided attacker to replace a ball winning midfielder?  :-\
