Baird has averaged 1 goal every 4.3 games throughout his club career so far.

Mrdja has averaged 1 goal every 3.48 matches.

As far as I know there is no record of assists & Mrdja would have had a lot of games where he came on as a sub in the last 15mins or so in the past 5 years.

Therefore as a striker Mrdja`s record is better.... Go figure

Season 1 Baird was actually pretty threatening for Roar, he and Brosque started getting a decent partnership going towards the end of the season and if it had another couple of weeks they could have got into the finals. I remember that QLD away trip (last game of the season, who could forget the bus trip?) and thinking we're gonna have to do very well to keep our unbeaten run going.

Baird has performed well below expectations for Perth this season but to be fair many have. In Romania his goal scoring record wasn't great, personally I don't know if most of those appearances were starting or off the bench? A lot of people were under whelmed when we signed Rose but now look at him.

Personally I'm happy to give him a go, he has a bit of pace which we lack up front and if he can find form and work well with Matty and Perez we could have a very useful squad player. A little surprised at the 15 month contract, would have thought we'd see how he settled for the last couple of months first and go from there but Arnie obviously thinks he's the player we need for the budget we have available.

With McMrdja retiring (supposedly) and McBreen maybe moving on thats a fair bit of space created for another striker and the promotion of a youth striker. This would then give us a complete squad with much competition in the forwards and mids

Yeah you're right. Especially with Sainsbury going to Sheffield United this month.
