Brown was most definitely released. With many much more established first teamers struggling to get contracts there was no way he would stay.

Travis was released for attitude problems basically.

feel very sorry for elrich was a gun when he was at fulham then got his injury and was pretty mcuh finished, maybe he'll sign with his brother to replace song, as for mcallister, his first season was a good season but second season was interupted thru injury, ive ehard GCU are looking at him.  Nicky Travis is an interesting one though, i thought that he was an awesome player why did they get rid of him, was he asking for to much $.  and what about the jon Brown kid, im guessing his been released as well?

Gun at Fulham? In the nicest possible way, thats absolute bollocks.

He made an appearance in a cup game against Orient (where we lost) and was pretty much heckled and abused off the pitch.

Generally reckoned to be one of the worst players ever to wear the shirt (and there is some stiff competition there let me tell you)

The general consensus was that Chris Coleman was on the piss when he signed him.

Apparently Arnie is on his way to South America - According to the Weekend Australian he needs to look no further than Brazil's Rio Grande do Norte league, a player at Centenario Pauferense called DIEGO MARADONNA NASCIMENTO DA SILVA (the not so old will know the name of Diego Maradonna, the not so young will know that Nascimento is the surname of PELE). He's 19 and is called, not surprisingly, the 'Brazilian Maradonna'. Run, Arnie, Run!

I don't want this player signed. We're going to look like we got excited about the sticker without looking what's in the box.

Good to see four of our new boys make the U/19 Young Socceroos squad.

Interestingly enough, we are the most represented club, something we have never really been before. Kinda illustrates Arnold's plan.

Matthew ACTON (gk) (Brisbane Roar), Mustafa AMINI (Central Coast Mariners), Daniel BOWLES Brisbane Roar), Kerem BULUT (FK Mlad Boleslav, Czech Republic), Chris BUSH (Uncontracted), Stephen DOMENICI (Uncontracted), Petar FRANJIC (Melbourne Victory), Sam GALLAGHER (Central Coast Mariners), Ben HALLORAN (Gold Coast United), Chris HAROLD (Gold Coast United), Ben KANTAROVSKI (Newcastle Jets), Steven LUSTICA (Gold Coast United), Theo MARKELIS (Valencia, Spain), Francesco MONTEROSSO (Adelaide United), Tom OAR (Brisbane Roar), Alex PEARSON (gk) (Perth Glory), Trent SAINSBURY (Central Coast Mariners), Nikola STANOJEVIC (Uncontracted), Kliment TASESKI (Melbourne Heart) and Marc WARREN (Central Coast Mariners).

Yep, could be ... or it could be that they were made available:

"YOUNG Socceroos Head Coach Jan Versleijen has named his squad of 20 players for a four-match tour of South America as preparations for the AFC U19 Championship 2010.

"This camp will be our first one this year and the first since we qualified for the AFC U-19 Championships," said Versleijen.

"It has been an interesting and difficult process selecting this squad with a number of players unavailable due to injury or recovery from injury, whilst others are involved in the AFC Champions League and with their various club commitments overseas."

Point being that while it's great to have them there, and very good experience - they are there at least because they've been made available, as you would hope Arnie would - just don't think they are all first, or even second, choice ... yet

most interesting is Theo Markelis, Aussie of Greek heritage who wants to play for Australia. A real gun, on the books at Valencia
