ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Greece is trying to get him, he has played in a greek youth team. I believe they are going to call him up to their Euro squad. If australia is going to make a play for him, which they damn well should, why not bring him into the singapore squad? Or China squad?

Kalac is still in at Milan I think. Though he could be good for the A League, though I dunno if he has many fans

Not Kalac. I'm still trying to get over his poor keeping against Croatia in the WC.

If they do, they have to bring him into the China squad AND he has to play, so I doubt that'll happen.

And yes not Kalac, even before Croatia he wasn't a good keeper. Mind you not sitting on your bum might help.

Kalac might be ok until Danny comes back.....he tends to play best when out of the spotlight...Danny could fill in, in the more important games towards the end of season.

Will never forget the Croatia game...and to a lesser extent the Fabregas goal in the CL game last week. He was unsighted on that one IMO.

Kalac would need time as a starting keeper and personally I would not be keen that he practices being the Mariners first keeper. He obviously has some natural ability but being lazy and collecting the paycheck at Milan for sitting on the bench for years is a big no IMO.

Although I think our keepers are a big issue for next season with Danny out, I doubt whether Kalac is a real proposition considering the wages he would want and the likelyhood that performance would justify those wages. IMO we are better off getting a solid backline and having Trott and Redmayne compete with Danny contributing all he can. I've seen Trott thrown in the deep end and consider that he needs to learn when to sit back and when to charge the striker but most of his goals were conceeded through poor backline defence leaving him open. I would be interested to see what Redmayne could do and although I have'nt seen him play have heard that he has potential.

I am pretty sure he has finished, but could be wrong?
I thought he finished half way through season.

Lawrie said if they dont appeal dannys suspension further they will be looking at a new keeper

Not all bad providing it is value for money as I consider that anyone that we could afford would not be up to the skill level of Danny and surely would be considered 2nd keeper when his suspension ends. Still rather spend up on a solid backline.

On the MacAllister signing.

My memoary from the NS was he was a big blonde fast surfie type, not that different to Matty, a little shorter very strong big chest, quick, got into great positions...........but could not hit the side of a barn.............bit like a Danny Allsop type of player. Hopefully Europe has refinded his skills.

Any one from NS recall, what he was like as a player
