ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So is anyone going or are we just gonna talk about the price of tea in China and what they're wearing?

Tickets on sale now for many of us! Must admit, I'm concerned about buying them before general release after past experiences where the pre-release tickets were pretty much the worst tickets you could get (e.g. GF against Newcastle - hot summer sun blazing into my face for most of the game).

I've got my tickets. I have seats on the half way line and we are really looking forward to it. Splurged on Cat A reserved but my husband is a celtic fan as well as a mariners fan.

Because he was filthy rangers scum?
No, I didn't give a damn about that (I still don't). I only liked Celtic because of the name. It was just because he was too passionate for me, I didn't want to risk finding another football team he was paranoid about

So, are many people going to this?

My family and I have bought our tickets (I've chosen the Celtic end over the Mariners end, no hard feelings), and we can't wait.

But I've spoken to loads of Mariners fans on the Coast who don't seem too bothered about it. Even those who have been season ticket holders since v.1.

A match against quality international opposition right on our doorstep (or pretty close, anyway). The Celtic supporters will ensure that there is great atmosphere, and I hope we can say the same about the Yellow Army.

Let's get into it!

I'm going ... because it is a Mariners game. The opposition is not of a huge interest, though you would not agree. ;-)

I understand, kevrenor!

But if the boot was on the other foot and it was the Rangers that the Mariners were playing, I would still turn up for sure.

Even though I hate the Rangers.

(Or maybe because I hate the Rangers.)

We are taking 7 out of 8 from our row in Bay 6 - just haven't done anything about it. 4 of us in the Mariners end - the other 3 may be at the Celtic end

. i feel as though i have to go ... not so much that i want to go

. so still haven't committed.

. not sure exactly why it hasn't inspired me, maybe a combination of:
.. sydney
.. ticket prices
.. out of season
.. unsure who will play
.. gf hangover (yes still)
.. wouldn't know a celtic player if he was holding broken glass to my throat

. i just get this feeling it is being hyped beyond what it actually is

It's the Mariners vs a Champions League regular? How can it be hyped beyond what it actually is?? Its our first European opponent (was always going to be a Scotish team wasn't it  )

Besides the obvious, its our first chance to show the boys that the GF loss is gone and that next year is all that matters. If your still hanging onto the pain of the GF you need to snap out of it. All I can remember is the most successful Mariners season to date which promised a bright and exciting next few years.

It will also be our first chance to really get behind Musty who must be feeling biterly dissapointed maybe even disillusioned over the outcome of the last few months.

A big and boisterous yellow prescence at this game is a must to get our team off on the right foot next season full of confidence.

I'm booked into the Yellow Army bay and also the coach trip from Club Tuggerah.

To be honest, I don't understand the complaints about ticket prices. $35 to stand and sing with the Yellow Army whilst we watch the awesome Mariners smash Celtic will be worth triple that price :pirashoot:

I haven't booked my ticket yet, but I will be there. It's a Mariners match.
I don't care that it's a pre-season outing for both of them, and like others I wouldn't know a Celtic player if he bit me on the bum. Even in pre-season mode Celtic will be class, and they won't want to get rolled by an Aussie team, so I expect them to go for it. Looking forward to it so much that I've decided to give the Collingwood/Swans match a miss so I can afford to go to this one. Go Mariners!

I think most people will be going tbh, it's the first time we've had international opponents for a pre season game plus it's 3 months since we've seen them play! We'll get a few Sydney based football supporters there

That's enough for me. I'm in - got my tix on the members day.

My team is playing in he biggest stadium of their history, and NSW biggest - OK, small journey there (but 2000 of copped the expense of a Brissy trip, in March). Then there's the first UEFA opposition, fabled old club with 6 million fans globally or something, blah, blah, blah.

Any idea about the availability of the players out on loan (Wilko, Kwas)?
