Boogs may not be as bad as first thought.

Add Gumpy to the injury list - medial liagament and out for three months.

How did gumps injure himself Mick?

don't know but it was the beginning of the second half and because we had no subs left gumpy didn't say anything till after the game

what a champ!

it was the same knee injury as melbourne round two

Was it the same tackle that Moore got sent off for at the start of the 2nd half?

Boogard has a thigh injury.

Elrich went off with a shin injury.

No indication of severity of either injury.

.........
The injury-ravaged Mariners only had 14 fit players to choose from and lost Ahmad Elrich (shin) and Nigel Boogaard (thigh) before the 90 minutes was out.
.........

Strangely, no mention of gumpy.

I think the real reason he didn't want to go off was because he knew about Bear's bet.

I reckon gumpy's knee was stuffed because bear crash tackled him at half time hoping he would have to come off the field ;D

With both Gumpy and Jedi out injured, this is Smitta's chance to make his claim for a first team spot.

Any ideas when Jedi is due back? If it's a medial tear, I'd expect Gumps to be out for a  few months before he returns, if at all unfortunately. (Wombat, prepare yourself for the worst mate)

Porter at least is season hardened, he's had a decent season with Lightning, so yes it's time for him to partner up Hutch and show his worth.

Latest on Gumps:

Central Coast midfielder Andre Gumprecht has snapped his medial ligament and is expected to be out of the game for more than three months, devastated coach Lawrie McKinna said.

Mariners beat 10-man Roar
Gumprecht, who re-signed for the club in the off-season, was injured in the tackle that earned defender Craig Moore a red card in the weekend Pre-Season Cup match against Queensland Roar.

Gumprecht, 33, will undergo surgery on Wednesday.

"It's a massive blow for Andre and for us. We will just have to deal with it," McKinna said.

"It leaves us light on. It was one of those things. It was a hard and physical tackle from Craig that was dealt with by the referee.

"Gumps actually played on and we did not know about it until after the game.

"After the operation on Wednesday we'll know more about how bad it is. But with medial ligament snaps it is usually at least three months (before one can play again)."

FFA rules stipulate that a player is deemed injured long-term if he's out of the game for more than six weeks so the Mariners will have the right to consider bringing in a replacement.

"We'll have to look at bringing somebody in for him but the question is who you can get in," McKinna said.

"It's something we did not need the week before the season starts."

Gumprecht's loss took the gloss away from a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over the Roar at Perry Park at the weekend.

Goalkeeper Mark Bosnich played in the latter stages of the match and did his chances of gaining a contract with the Mariners no harm with another solid performance.

"We're still talking with his agents and a decision will be made this week," McKinna said.

McKinna said the likely outcome was that Bosnich be offered a short-term deal to be guest player for five matches to cover for Danny Vukovic's suspension.

The Mariners open their A-League campaign with a derby match against Newcastle Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium in a repeat of the 2008 grand final which the Jets won 1-0.

I was at physio this afternoon, where some of the mariners such as Greg Owens and Jedi go. I heard that Jedi will be back for round 1.
