ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Gumps cant go 90 mins (sadly)

All successful sides have a strong central spine

The centre of our side last night was

Nik
Hutcho
Wilko
Danny

I would get Dylan as central target man, a DM and a mongrel asshole of a CB

Glen Little might be worth chasing as a marquee, he's an old school tricky winger the kind I love to see.

He turns 35 this year, and had played a handfull of games for Pompey in the last year. Hardly marquee worthy

We really need to strengthen our defence before lookin at attackers. No point having a steel front door when the back door is missing.

The club is in nothing like Sydney or Newcastle-style turmoil, since those two clubs set a new standard for incompetence for non-Knights clubs.

The major issue this season has been a poor defence, even though a few teams are worse in that department, poor defending has let the Mariners down.

Also come to the realisation that this season's league is a much better and tougher competition than last season's, as is evident by Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory being the top two when those two team failed to deliver last season. Therefore, finishing 3rd or 4th is not unexpected.

Furthermore, many people thought Sydney would finish in the top 3, only for them to fail spectacularly.

But if we finish 5th or 6th...???

I've heard murmurs that Angelo Costanzo could exit Adelaide United after this season... if that's the case, his experience and class in defence would be an improvement, surely?

We need a marquee (someone with flair, determination) attacking minded
We need a solid CB
A solid RB ? possibly
A Jedi type play to fill DM

I think we need to drop O'Grady, Owens, Osman.  Possibly gumps

We need better management of our youth team and academy

Yorke was desperate to come here we blew it.

Yorke would just be another $1.4 million A-League embarrassment except this time the egg would be on our faces.

IMO Puyol would help out our back line

QFT

DMac, and Matty at the front, and then Danny at the back should be the core of the team over the next few seasons...assuming we can hang onto them that long. Unfortunately Gumps and Sash are getting on in years. We need to have people who can slot in for them when they start to slow down.
