CCM final third solutions thread...

Agree somewhat on giving one of the youth players a shot but what we appear to be missing is someone with experience and calmness on the ball. It's the final third that is bringing us down at the moment and it needs to be fixed. Watching the interplay between the Bling FC players on the weekend when they got near the goals was good and is a level that we should be trying to exceed. Maybe moving McGlinchey forward could be the answer. Certainly has the skills on the ball and has the ability to create the space around him.

i think mcGlinchey is playing in the right position and he finding alot of room where he is and you don't want to change that.
we need Forwards that are going to stand up and do the job.
it's sad but true D-Mac, Disco Nick and K-waz are not filling the Position we need to look at youth or Nicky Travis

Finally some of you people are seeing the light that a small speedy player  might fit the bill now how about checking out who could be available from asia, like what MV are up to.

Small, speedy, skilful forward with v quick feet and lots of mongrel?

Someone to feed off Matty's scraps?

Step forward Brady Smith

D-mac looks much closer to scoring than mrjda, just NEVER run him with simon, he should come on for the last 15 for simon... with an archie styled strick partner (that can play 90)

Yeah agree, though while they didn't score against GCU, they looked OK together.
I think they like playing together which is important.

FFC, Has Brady scored in the Yoof yet do you know? How many?
Not that that would totally discount him, but if he's not ready yet, not good for us or him. Though sometimes its hard to ever truly know till they step foot on the park.

TBH, I dont think he is ready and the Yoof have been playing him in Mids from what i have seen.

However, he has a big heart and is a feisty as they come, cant see him being intimidated at all. Good quick feet and I'm pretty confident he can roll a ball into an empty net

They already have Lewis in the seniors just give him a go. 10  minutes here and there will make or break him.He is quick and can score. Was good for Blacktown in the Premier league. if given the chance he will make mistakes but I bet he tries and will add something differant than the similar styles of the forwards already there.

Pretty sure that is Pedj, not Huke in that pic. Purely because the 'Central Coast' logo has only been used this season, when Huke has not played. He played in the ACL when we had the small 'thecoast.cc' logo. Also I don't think Huke has played against the Roar.

However, yes they do look similar...

Love the quip too...
"WORKING HARD: Robbie Kruse and Michael Zullo train at Ballymore."

Bet the mariners wish they trained at 'Ballymore'  :p :piralaugh:

Well, part of our final third solution is in place. Matty has just signed for 2 more years according to the club web site. He reckons that now he can concentrate on playing good footy. Maybe that was what was making him look a bit below par so far this year?

More like our final "6th" solution.

We still need another proper striker to play alongside him.

(Wonders if there is a get out clause for when euro clubs come back again?)

Excellent. I do think this is important. He has to have been thinking OS, but the start to his campaign means it may not be as close a perhaps he would like. Two more years in the HAL would not hurt him imo.

But of course FFC's right... still need another striker of a different kind.

tbh I am happy with his season
considering we have been overrelying on him, and he has taken most of the burden upfront.
Not to mention his mission last season was to be frank just get of his duck! Which he did more than that (he killed his duck :p)
But this season he is the mariners hopes (especially with no jedinak). I mean yes WeeMac and Travis came in, but before anyone saw how good they were- he must have had a heap of pressure.
I dont envy him at all, it must be hard having to cover for inept striking ability of his 2 striking 'colleagues'.
I wont blast Macca that much (mainy because he tries), but tbh he has contributed to this undue pressure on Matty's shoulders.
