Definitely Cahill & Kewell. I'm pretty sure Cahill played in Everton's loss to Chelsea. I have a feeling he played in a Cup Final for Millwall in the early 2000's also??

Im 99% sure that Schwarzer hasn't played in a Cup Final.

Massive news if it comes to pass.
http://www.canberratimes.com.au/spo...it-of-socceroo-tom-rogic-20160511-gosick.html

Australian midfielder Tom Rogic is edging closer to a move to Europe's football elite with English Premier League giants Arsenal leading the chase for his signature.

After overcoming a horror lay-off due to injury, Rogic has bounced back to become one of Australia's hottest properties going into the upcoming European transfer window with Arsenal understood to have been in pursuit of the player for almost a year.

The North London club could submit an offer for Rogic once the transfer window opens in July having continued to monitor his progress in helping Celtic to a Scottish Premier League triumph this season.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder played an integral role in the title win, and with two games left to play he remains Celtic's second top scorer behind striker Leigh Griffiths. Nine goals in 37 appearances across all competitions marked an impressive return for the former Central Coast Mariners player who was recommended to Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger by Reading coach, Brian McDermott.

Rogic wins another Goal of the Season gong:

Socceroo Tom Rogic has won the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership Goal of the Season for his stunning strike against Kilmarnock.

Rogic, who was this week linked with English giants Arsenal, won the gong after a fan vote on Twitter.

The goal occurred on March 19 away to Kilmarnock, with Rogic firing home a 90th minute winner from distance away to Kilmarnock.

The strike already earned Rogic the club’s Goal of the Season gong last month.

Rogic has enjoyed a strong season at Celtic, scoring nine goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder had endured an injury-cursed period after joining Celtic from Central Coast in January 2013.

Rogic made his first start in almost two years last August after groin and ankle problems and has gone from strength to strength this campaign.

Race intensifying to sign Socceroos star Rogic:

The race to sign Australia star Tom Rogic, who has been linked in reports with Arsenal, is intensifying with clubs in Europe and Asia understood to have joined the likes of Reading and Sheffield Wednesday in the battle to land the Celtic playmaker.

With just over a year of his Parkhead contract to run after a breakthrough season, which has brought 10 goals in 38 games, Rogic is free to negotiate with clubs on 1 January 2017.

He could be acquired for as little as $3 million, with his four-year deal running down, but Rogic and the newly crowned Scottish champions remain no closer to a resolution on contract extension talks, which began in November.

The impasse has fuelled speculation that he will soon be on his way, much to the angst of Hoops fans who have come they realise they have a magician in their midst.

Some of the most ardent interest is coming from the cashed up Chinese Super League, where at least two clubs have made it clear they will be happy to let the 23 year-old's contract expire before plucking him up on a multi-million dollar package.

Rogic's future could even turn on how he performs in front of a bevy of scouts when the Socceroos take on England in the glamour international on 28 May (AEST).

The scorer of Celtic's goal of the season, and one of the seven against Motherwell at the weekend, Rogic has been a revelation for club and country of late, much to the delight of departing Bhoys boss Ronny Deila and Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou.

While the interest from Championship side Reading, whose boss Brian McDermott is an avid admirer, and Sheffield Wednesday is being taken seriously, Rogic's final destination could be far loftier.

That said, it's believed the prospect of him joining the Gunners next season is looking remote.

So if Tommy's contract expires January 1st 2017 and goes on a 'free' ......... no $$$'s for CCM ???

I'd like to see him stay in Europe, it would be a shame to see him go to China for the ca$h, even more of a s h ame for his development.

Hope he's got some good advice around him and has his ears on.

Mile Jedinak to become fifth Australian to play in FA Cup final and first to captain a team

He may lack the star power of Tim Cahill or Harry Kewell but Mile Jedinak stands on the verge of achieving a second iconic moment in Australian football history in the space of 16 months.
The Socceroos skipper will become the fifth Australian to play in the FA Cup final but the first to captain a side in it when he leads Crystal Palace against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (Sunday AEST).
Should they triumph, it will be Jedinak who is seen around the world lifting the trophy aloft, just as he did when he led Australia to Asian Cup glory on home soil last year.
It’s another chapter in a remarkable story for a player who only 10 years ago was training without pay after working on a Sydney building site in a desperate attempt to earn an A-League contract with the Central Coast Mariners.
In every sense that was an awful long way from what was taking place in Germany that winter where Cahill, Kewell and others of the so-called golden generation were thrilling Australia in the Socceroos’ first World Cup appearance in 32 years.
Mile Jedinak lifts the Asian Cup.
But as many of those players’ careers were peaking or winding down, Jedinak was starting to take flight as former Mariners coach Lawrie McKinna saw something in the quietly-spoken midfielder that no-one else at his club did.
Other Stories
“We got him in on an injury-replacement contract for a game against Newcastle,” McKinna told AAP.
“He started in central midfield, did okay nothing more, but we lost 3-1.
“After a few games there were a lot of people around the club telling me he was rubbish and that we shouldn’t keep him.
“But I could see he had a good physique and these long legs that broke up play in midfield and a decent passing game.
“And he just got better and better and soon became our best player.”
Mile Jedinak (L) in action for Central Coast Mariners.
A move to Turkish side Genclerbirligi followed in 2010 and he joined Palace a year later, where, after a slow start to his career at Selhurst Park, he was appointed captain and skippered the team to EPL promotion via the 2013 playoffs.
Although he tends to save his best displays for the biggest games, Jedinak is not one for the limelight.
You won’t find the father of two advertising underwear or pictured stumbling out of a nightclub and the last of his 17 posts on Twitter was back in August 2013.
But as a captain he’s an inspirational figure, as demonstrated in the Asian Cup final and in the FA Cup semi-final against Watford where he produced peerless performances in two of the biggest games on his career.
CJedinak (C) lifts the trophy following victory in the English Championship play-off final.
“Mile’s not a man who says a lot but when he does everyone sits up and listens,” Socceroos and QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo told AAP.
“He’s one of those guys that keeps to himself. But when you’re in the change rooms before a big game, you look across and feel glad and reassured that he’s in your team.
“I was talking to (Palace midfielder) Joe Ledley at a sponsor’s event recently and he said exactly the same thing.
“I don’t see him as much as I’d like here in London as we’re both usually playing but I speak to him on the phone a lot and he’s been a huge help to me.
“I’d love to see him win the FA Cup.”
Crystal Palace's Mile Jedinak.
McKinna also stays in touch with his former charge and insists he’s no different to when they first met.
“You look at him now and he’s at the pinnacle of Australian football and deserves every accolade that comes his way,” McKinna said.
“All I did was give him an opportunity. His determination and hard work have got him to where he is.
“He’s still the same humble, quiet, big fella he was when I first met him.
“I couldn’t be happier for him.”
