ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Did anyone get out to Erina or Tuggerah on the membership drive? Any reports on if it looked to be a decent success?

In another country atm so all updates are appreciated :)

G'day, my family and I moved to the coast last year and we became Mariners Members (Blue GA membership) for the 2010-2011 season. It was our first experience of HAL and we had a great time, we travelled to Newcastle and Sydney for the derby's and even managed to see to a few NYL games at Budgewoi and Pluim.

This year I'm upgrading to Gold membership and want to get the best seats I can (given that I need to fit in with the existing gold members of course). Anyway, I've been trying to track down a seating plan for Blue Tongue (one that includes rows and seat numbers) but haven't had any luck. Does anyone know where I could find one?

Thanks
Steve

Welcome.

This link takes you to a plan that shows the bays and their numbering system:

http://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums_seating.php?id=79

The seat numbers run from the right and front eg. my seat, Bay 7 / Row S / Seat 16 is in Bay 7 (as shown above) and Row S is almost at the back row, and about 8 from the left aisle.

You'll need to check which are gold from the Mariners brochure, or better still ring them.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks. Yeah I spoke to the Mariners and they've given me a couple of options I'm just trying to work out where they are in each bay.

There's a pic of the bays here as well http://www.ccmariners-memberships.com.au/gold.html
I don't think there is anything that has rows and seat numbers, so it's usually best to just call them and have a chat and try and work out the best area. I don't think there is much left under cover in those front (lower) bays, and if you go up the top, you want to stay away from the first 3 or 4 rows, as you get a bit of rain there, and the fence railing at the front of the stand will block your view a bit.

One option was bay 4 Row W seats 14-17 which sounds like its right up the back. Not sure what the view would be like from here. The other option was Bay 48 somewhere (I'm not that keen on sitting on the Eastern side)

Yep, sounds like that is pretty well up the back, and towards the northern end of the bay, probably a few seats from the aisle of bays 4-5.

Bays 34-36 is where the people who know their football sit ;)

There are some pretty harsh critics up in that area... people think the back of bay 16 comes out with some tough calls... it's nothing compared to the gold/platinum seats!!

I've been in Bay 48 since season two. Love the view from half way. Heat can be a draw back on a hot arvo.

And with most of our home fixtures schedules on a Saturday at 1730, you will be looking to cop it very bad on the Eastern side, a real shame because it basically makes that entire side of the stadium useless.....

I wonder if that was at all factored into the fixture list this year or if lining up Foxsports television slots was more important, if all our games had a kick off of 2000L the entire stadium would be able to enjoy it

With the club announcing membership renewals NOW for 2012/2013 season, is this a short term fix to clear up back payments before the Russian Revolution takes over?

Was this always planned or brought about by the cash shortfalls?

I think its a great idea as its in everyone's mind at present rather then in the off season where there may be other interests. So ,more chance of bringing members back or upgrading their memberships and lesser chance of losing them when they couldn't be bothered to renew.

Thoughts or insights??!!

or brought about by the cash shortfalls?

Suspect this is the case.

My renewals will total about $1,000. A couple of hundred similar could keep the club going for a couple more weeks.

However, my concern is, is this in the best interests of the long term future of the club?

Is it going to lead to negotiations dragging on further or is it going to help a speedy resolution?

If either, which is better?

If I put my real cynical hat on, is it a way of extracting cash before an inevitable sale? I suspect if this were the case we would be seeing more players sold rather than signed and just my paranoia kicking in.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at the negotiations.

I'm not sure what you mean here - is it a bad thing to have memberships for next season open early?

In the AFL I can get my membership as soon as the finals for the previous season is over.

We usually get a few weeks before the start of the season to get our Mariners membership, so I reckon the sooner they can start marketing them the better.

. i don't think the query was about marketting or the number of members

. it was about spending next years money now ... such short term solutions to cashflow problems can only increase cashflow problems in the future

I don't think it will send the Mariners broke next year, and it may be a case of needing the money now or there won't even be a next year.

I also think that with the extra time we might even end up with more members joining, because they can push it for months rather than a couple of weeks.

Maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic?
