Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I would find it hard to take to see Bozza playing for any other A-League team other than us. It would be twice as bad if he ended up playing for Sydney or Newcastle. Hopefully, that nightmare would never transpire.
From what he was saying on foxtell last night there was no indication of him going anywhere else but that is usually the case when you dont expect it it happens. I don't know why he has been seen around Maquarie Uni these days is he working out how to get to training when he finishes up at Gosford .

Given the game against Adelaide was on the 3rd and your post is on the 6th I can confidently say, no, no he didn't.

GET YOUR TICKETS FOR THE 'BYE BYE BOSNICH' LUNCH

The time will come next weekend to farewell an Australian football great when Mark Bosnich takes to the Bluetongue Stadium pitch for the final time for the Mariners on Sunday, 19 October when they take on the Wellington Phoenix.

As a fitting farewell for the former goalkeeper who once reached the heights of English Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea, the Central Coast Mariners are hosting a farewell luncheon at the Central Coast Leagues Club, 12noon ahead of the Mariners and Phoenix clash.

Hosted by none other than 2008 Miss Universe Australia, Laura Dundovic, the lunch will feature a tribute from respected journalist and football fan George Negus and well-known radio personality Alan Jones and will include a question and answer session with Mark Bosnich and Mariners' Football Manager Lawrie McKinna.

This is an event not to be missed, and a fantastic opportunity for Mariners Members, Supporters and Corporate Partners to say thanks and good-bye to a fantastic goalkeeper and a sensational ambassador to the Central Coast Mariners Football Club.

Tickets are $100 each or $1,000 for a table of ten, with each ticket including a two course meal and all beverages as well as a ticket for entry to the Central Coast Mariners v Wellington Phoenix fixture, following the event.

If we assume that Herr Jones is not appearing for free, can we claim the cost as a donation to some extreme loony right wing party.

The man is a dead set fascist.

I read it as being a video tribute pre-recorded and shown on big screen, not sure why i thought that though, just couldn't imagine that prick coming to the CCLC.

I wonder, being of Croatian background, if she has any connection to football or a player, or even bozza himself?

EXCLUSIVE: Lawrie McKinna will wave goodbye to Mark Bosnich on Sunday but hopes the goalkeeper can soon be tempted back to Bluetongue in some capacity.
The club is hosting a 'Bye Bye Bosnich' luncheon on Sunday before the A-League clash against Wellington Phoenix - the keeper's last game before his short-term deal expires.

McKinna will be one of the guest speakers at the lunch but would love this to be a 'goodbye' rather than 'farewell' occasion.

The Mariners coach told au.fourfourtwo.com: "As a coach I couldn't speak more highly of Mark.

"His attitude has been great. It's unfortunate he picked up the injury but he's been busting his ass with the rehab work.

"He has been such a positive person to have in the dressing room and he is a credit to his family.

"After the Adelaide game last week he was the first one on the phone to talk about the game.

"I think we've been good for Mark and he's been good for this club."

McKinna hopes that the Mariners haven't seen the last of Bozza at Bluetongue. He said: "Hopefully we can sit down and talk about something with him."

Whether that means another playing deal, coaching work or more of an ambassadorial role remains to be seen.

Mariners executive chairman Lyall Gorman said today: "While we will be hoping to build some form of future involvement between Mark and the Mariners, weve thoroughly enjoyed having Mark with us throughout the duration of his initial trial period and subsequent seven-round stay with the Mariners and this event, just prior to what will potentially be Marks final contribution to the Hyundai A-League this season, will be a fitting recognition of Marks time at the Mariners thus far.

"Players and characters of Mark ilk are so rare in football and all that have met Mark will tell you just how unique of a character he is this luncheon provides everybody with a chance to experience one of the very special individuals to have ever played the game in Australia up close."

IMO its a bit dubious. The post match function at Budgewoi was not organised in a way that encouraged players to mingle with fans so the value basically came down to hearing a live interview with Lawrie, an interview with Van Egmond who didn't turn up and the food which was a fairly basic bistro. I got the feeling we were only invited so we could cover the cost of the Mariner's meals. With this one, I wouldn't mind betting there will be no chance to shake Bozza's hand without some pretty tricky footwork (i.e. stalking or pissing security off), so I don't quite understand how its worth $100 per head.

The Gaffa has made up his mind that Bozza is not playing on Sunday and that is why you will be able to shake his hand, so the only way we can see him perform on the day will be at the Club and just think that you have helped in some way to pay his wages for the four games he played.
